  1. With your hands? arms? shoulders ? hips? body? I'm curious on how many different ways people take the club back. t
  2. I have a g30 allways feels great to swing, makes good sound. I seem to hit mine leftish overall a good driver. I mostly game my i25. I make more centered hits with it and better controll for me.
  3. Hello all- I want better looking shafts for my woods and driver but there isn't anywhere I can try after market shafts. do all shafts perform close to the same? so if my driver has a R flex 60g shaft on it now would I be safe getting a fujkura shaft with the same specs? thanks t
  4. how long is your wing span vs how tall you are? my club head would get way behind me, I had a pro take my measurements found out I'm 5,9 with a 6'3 arms. we made some adjustments to my set up, then we or I would say I worked hard on the take away, come to find that when I take the club head back correct it goes outside the target line and I make almost perfect contact and gained distance. with what you have learned your body may be showing you your golf swing. I have shot 82. 84. 84. 92. 89. since I made these changes. last couple of years I was lucky to score a 89. and my short game sucks. my guess would be your working on not coming over the top. and you found a way to get the club to go outside to in. congrats, and stick with it,
  5. shaft bending..I noticed that about my XHOT 4 and 7 woods but they haul the mail with a great sound.
  6. rofl. no need to apologize , I should be banned for the post :) I love the replies.

  10. and what was your results ?
  11. I'm asking anybody that looks at this thread to go out to the range, course, backyard, putting green, indoor putting mat. what I want you to do is get in a posture that feels most powerful to you. forget what you have learned or what you have been taught. just go out there, take a set up that makes your body most comfortable and strong. more knee bend, less knee bend, strong, weak grip. bend over, backwards, what ever your best feeling address to th ball is. I'm asking you to give this a try. and please post back to this thread. I'm asking You to grab what ever club, setup to the ball the way you feel your body wants too and see what happens. please let me know your results.
  12. here is a picture of my 7. in the past the fake grass would cover the bottum of the club front to back. but after countless shots this is all the mat that shows.
  13. howdy all, here we go. I have been range ratting for solid week, practicing the proper grip I learned on this site and taking my club over on the back swing and under on the down swing. I have been doing ok but my distance was not right, my 7 iron has been going 130 to 135 all my clubs where off prob. 15 to 20 yards. but let me say I have been consistent straight. today after hitting some thin shots I got frustrated and set up to the ball and took a pissed off swing with my 7i. man that ball went right to left landing past my target of 147 but on my target line. I noticed when I made the swing I felt like I held the club face shut for as long as could. so I hit another with the same swing thought and bam, 145 on target bal going right then coming back left. confused I took a break think I'm just getting lucky. after my break I checked my backswing in a mirror and I noticed the my left hand was flat at the top usually my left hand would cup. I returned to my mat and went through 6i to 4w using this swing thought and the worse shots I could hit were a pull or a slight miss to the right. the I grabbed my g30 driver, hmmmmm, well first shot was a pull, after that every thing I hit with my driver went low and left, I changed ball positions trying to get the ball high in the face.couldnt make it happen. I still can hit all my clubs with this swing, my 4 wood is smoking hot, I maybe came over the top with it 5 times out of 50 balls. my irons 6i to my wedge are great. but everytime I tried to hi my driver I would get this low left weak shot, goes maybe 150 yards. note: club face feels closed to me but I would say it's looking at the ball in my takeaway any advise? thanks, Tom
  14. ok ok, I tried the grip today, it worked great. I hit 250 balls, my first I would say 50 balls was just to get adjusted to the new grip. one thing about the grip MVMAC posted is that it puts you in a very powerful feeling at setup. now for my answer to the question about grip and over the top. with my old grip I had a vary hard time turning around my right hip, with the old grip I was always on my toes. today after 75 balls I started to hit left hooks. and was having a hard time stopping the left hooks from happening. at this point with my set up feeling stronger I decided to try some practice swings with my 4w and trying to keep my weight on the inside of my back foot (I have always struggled with this, when I walk I walk on the outside of my feet.) well after 2 practice swings I could see the club head coming from the inside, I found it easier to get my weight to shift to the inside of my back foot, also found it easier to stand taller to the ball. well the moment of truth, 4w in hand, the new grip, new thought of weight to inside of right foot. I set up to the ball full of convidence with a worrie of coming over the top. I take my swing and look up at the ball...... it's going out to the right, then it softly turns over left and and keep turning left until it reached its peak and came down softly where I was aiming. so the ball started right came back to the left and landed in target area. hmmm did I hit a draw, I'm sure it wasn't pretty looking swing but it was a ball flight I may have seen 100 times out of a million swings. WTF! ok ok I tell myself, relax, that's the last one I will see for a while. I set up again, take my swing, yup this one is a miss hit, but, the ball starts right comes in a little and stays right, I think I hit a push shot because it was not a slice. I hit many shots from wedge to driver to wedge today. and because of this new grip that some how changed my ability to transfer my weight to the inside of my back foot, what my eyes saw today was almost every ball going right to left and landing near my target line. draw? I don't know but I like what I'm seeing. Im thinking a proper grip can help with the body setup that helps with the transition of the swing. i even tried coming way over the top today, I did reach the hosel of the club but I almost fell backwards on my ass. weird I realy can't describe it in words, but using the grip that mvmac posted, then using what my instructors taught me about the swing every thing is coming together. I just wish my instructors showed me the grip because I thnik I wouldn't be posting this. :) thanks, MVMAC & SANTRAP. $$$$$$$
  15. hmmm. thanks for that link mvmac, my grip is no where close to that. before this year the club would go from my pointer finger tip and the under the thumb heel pad, then my right hand would go over almost my left pointer finger. this year I moved the club closer to my fingers and noticed better face contact but still not like what I just looked at. I will be trying it Friday. thanks, Tom
  16. say I have a weak grip on the club with my left hand (righty golfer) and I put my right hand on top of the shaft almost cover the left hand, do you think it would cause me to come over the top?
  17. callaway super soft.
  18. 2.0 on my putter. now the stock size grips don't feel right. It took some getting use to but now I can't put it down. I like how my hands feel closer together. my ball roll has improved.
  19. I have had and still have a very bad habit of coming over the top. I started working with a new pro this year and he has helped using keep the club head infront of my hands and handle in then flattening the club on the down swing. he has also got me in a better posture. after a lot of good practice and one ok round, today I went to the range using the methods I learned and boom. over the top is back and I can not controll it. for some reason my back shoulder (right) wants to start the down swing by going out, I even tried just to get my left shoulder to go up to start the swing but my right shoulder won't let it happen. irons are ok with it but I canot get it under controll with my woods. this over the top started bad early last year when a different instructer wanted me to get more weight forward during the down swing. any suggestions? anyone deal with this problem? thanks, Tom.

  21. A must play in OC is Eagles landing its allways in great shape and has some really neat holes. more then 50. but well worth it.
  22. lol.
  23. lol. also if you where a in my 4. and all the sudden you started booming it 25+ I would question your breakfast or checking how you use Chapstick. but I wouldn't degrade you I would join the club. but if you started scoring better. and your nerves got calmer I would suspect something. :p
