  1. water, gatorade, and if my dads playing with me a coors light. He always buys me one from the girl on the 9th hole =]
  2. 48/47 = 95 my best round yet. Could of been in the 80s if it wasn't for 42 putts. Had 6 lip outs and 2 stop half an in short.
  3. I love my 5 wood too. I know if I have to hit a fairway I just pull out the trusty 5.
  4. Just read that the pull comes from coming over the top. That helps. Back to the never ending swing changes :)
  5. Wouldn't a closed club face at address (draw biased) be even more closed at impact? I'm not seeing the same shot pattern with my 3/5 wood and they are neutral.
  6. I know this is common knowledge but don't purchase a draw biased driver if you plan on improving your swing. When I first started golf last summer it was banana slices all day. I figured a draw bias driver would help and it did till I started getting lessons and figuring out my swing. My nice baby draw with irons is a pull/hook with my driver now due to the exaggerated closed face at set up. The only way to hit this club straight now is to cup my left wrist in an attempt to keep the face square not closed at impact. So if anyone wants a diablo draw driver send me a message haha
  7. back to back eagles.... should of signed up haha
  8. 49/47 = 96 personal best. Had two triples too, hadn't seen any of those in a while.
  9. What do you guys think ray would score if he played 18 at this current point in the show? Last night was the half way mark and they have not mentioned one score. Does anyone think he will actually break 80?
  10. I think im gonna go pick up a dozen of the bridgestone e6 after all the good feedback i've been reading on them from you guys.
  11. I just use what ever off the tee leaves me a 100-110 yards from the pin. which is a full pitching wedge. Good example is I had a friend go for the green on a short 270 yard par 4. He greened it and 3 putted for par. I hit 5 iron pitching wedge 2 putt par.
  12. Yellow Golf Pride grips and re-grip kit, and some balls
  13. My first lesson my coach had me hit off a lie board and the length of the clubs and lie are fine his only concern was as my swing devoloped the shaft would be too flexible.
  14. There the Royal Scot.
  15. 48/46 = 94
  16. Installed golf pride grips! Feel awesome thanks for the suggestions to wait on new clubs. (golf smith wanted 3 dollars a club to install glad I did it myself! Really easy.)
  17. Shot a 43 today. Felt good, great weather and great friends.
  18. Very true, i'll have to check out golf smith this weekend. I saw the golf pride grip kits looks simple enough to do my self.
  19. Thanks guys! I think i'm going to go with the re-grip idea and wait till next season (any suggestions). I'm just way too excited to finally see some good results! The graphite shafts are regular flex and when I got lessons I hit them on the lie board and he said everything was fine as far as lie, his only concern was shaft. I'll ask him if he thinks i'm ready for irons yet, because frankly i'd rather spend 500 on green fees and lessons than clubs.
  20. I've had about 5 lessons since november of 2009. My swing is starting to come around and i've noticed a good improvement in ball striking. I started golfing in July of 2009 when I purchased a complete set of tommy armour golf clubs driver - putter. They are graphite and full cavity but no offset. (i'm 23 5'11 pretty athletic) My typical miss is a push. When i'm hitting well the ball goes straight with either a 2-3 yard fade or draw. I'm shooting in the high 90s for a round of 18. Would I benefit from an upgrade or should I just keep my clubs? Would do you guys recommend?? I've been eyeballing the callaway x22s or nike slingshots and hit both into the net at golf smith but not on the monitor. I like them both and the they have a much better feel than my current set.
  21. After each practice session I always type in a few notes on my note pad on my iphone. Just swing thoughts or a feeling that worked for me that day. Then I review them each time before I tee it up again.
  22. Just curious how bad are your misses into the green when you achieve a single digit handicap?
  23. Same as you guys basically horse. Pick shot pick club pick location winner calls next shot... ect
  24. My best scores have come from putting, but also being able to chip/pitch it close (3-10 ft). Play smarter not harder.
  25. Today I worked on. 1. Neutral grip after discovering how weak my grip was (no wonder I pushed/faded/sliced the ball) 2. Swing easy to allow right hand to roll over left 3. keeping left wrist flat Hit 70% of my shots straight with a very slight draw, 20% push/fade, and 10% hook with 120 balls. Felt really good, also devoted 30 minutes to chipping (weight forward and hands forward) and 30 minutes to putting (working on speed alone) My goal by the end of summer is to shoot in the 85-90 range consistantly.
