  1. Should be a good finish, looking forward to watching. Always loved Trent Jones courses, the 2 home town heroes will be pushing hard today.
  2. Montie was +3 after 14 holes today.
  3. Shaping up to be good finish, Langer is impressive so far, some HOFamers on leaderboard, Els won one of the toughest US Opens i ever seen at Oakmont 94, 100 degree weather that weekend and playoff with Montie and Loren Roberts.
  4. Let the LIV players play 5 events on pga tour other than majors, then have a system where pga tour players get to go after big money on LIV tour. Say, 5-8 players ranked 50-125 on pga tour $ list will have a chance for big money on liv tour each tournament. I also think the liv tour should evolve into a world golf tour with the best international players playing all over the globe.
  5. I think the US Open should test every part of the players game, i dont think LA Country Club tested the players off the tee as the fairways were so wide. There has been a thought that the USGA has tried to make the fairways wider to make the player find the right angles coming into the greens.
  6. What is he, 65? To be winning at that age is something else. He is tied with one of my favs Hale Irwin for most senior tour wins.
  7. Love the setup, first time ive seen the course and i like it, Ernie Els said this was the thickest rough he has ever seen!
  8. I dont know, Nicklaus, Stewart,,Watson,Els, Palmer, Strange, Woods all won Opens with those conditions. Not a bad list of players.
  9. Been around a long time, seen alot of golf, sorry but i dont like the course. Watched first round. Now, PGA Championship was held on great course & seemed like true test, very good set up, great tourny.
  10. I didnt watch, along with many others
  11. Dont care Buddie, probably should have been 3 62's? Lowest 1st round scoring average in us open history. I would like to see tougher course for these players, a true test. But the players complain so much about tough courses and high rough, mike whan made his reputation on ladies tour where he bowed to every complaint they had, hell do same at usga
  12. 100% true, us open should be most difficult track all year, usga only allowing 22k spectators is a joke as well. 2 62's???? Even brandel chamblee said this course is fine for members, but not for us open, usga leadership is questionable for the last 23 years.
  13. If what you say is true, everyone thst puts gas in their car or uses plastics are contributing to saudi blood money, these guys just want to play golf period, and they got offered alot of money to do so, i dont see a problem
  14. I dont care why monahan did 180, all i know is i agree with Norman, lets get the worlds best playing against each other on an elite world tour
  15. Greg Norman has been pushing this since the early 90s. Norman started this idea long ago and has been chastised for a long time-'he wins, fans win!
  16. Great News, for all of golf get all the best players playing against each other, feel good for Greg Norman
  17. You're right, and I am interested in seeing what changes are made for next weeks setup, I'm sure Jack will let the rough grow a little more and firm up the greens a little if there is not alot of rain this week, unless they are not using all the tee's this week what more can they do?
  18. As I said I am not a very good golfer in the grand scheme of things, and you are absolutely correct, sorry to get you so worked up.
  19. Thanks for your opinion guys, good debate, but you haven't convinced me otherwise. I am not the best golfer but I do enjoy playing tougher courses in my area and most people in my arena are in agreement with me about the tour. Again I am just stating my opinion which doesn't mean a thing in the long run.
  20. i'm not saying every week should be a US Open ( even though now the us open is not really a us open setup in my mind) i remember a time when if you hit a bad shot you were penalized by the course, when you have no rough and soft greens the penalty is not there. why do you think no one is watching golf now........tv ratings are way down, nobody goes to watch anymore, we want to see a good test.
  21. I am sick of seeing 20 under par winning tournaments, let's dry these greens out and grow some rough for god's sake, these touring pro's need to be challenged more. I just got done watching the 1998 US Open, hard greens thick rough and narrow fairways is what i love to watch, I don't like birdie fests. Now back in the 1990's the tour had all sorts of course setups throughout the year, unfortunately now the players have too much say into what the course setup will be and they don't like to play tough courses--back in the day, you had to WIN to make the big money, now you can cruise around in 20th place and be a millionaire.
  22. I agree 100% i've seen him do this to the course and I think he is being a little childish when he does. i was a little put off by his comments that he blamed the camera man for HIS own behavior..............he ought to ask himself the question "would Arnold Palmer do this?"
  23. does anybody have one of these training aids and does it work?
  24. Did anyone see Matthew Wolf last week, I can't remember what hole it was, but the tv camera caught him tamping down spike marks on the green when he had a foot putt. I know the rules now allow this, but it seemed to me that he was going overboard with this.......on his 2 foot putt he spent about 30 seconds really tamping down hard the whole area between the ball and the hole....to me this is an infraction of rule 13.
