  2. Took you a year, but now you'll get the itch to 'just try' the G15 line, will you not? What an expensive obsession we have...
  3. I went into my golf store absolutely sure I was going to get a Scotty Studio Select 2.0 - the money may as well have been in the register. I guess I was really enamoured with the brand and the idea of a Scotty. But when I started missing big all over the practice green, I was a bit worried. Eventually after being putter-fit, I realised I needed a face-balanced putter. Yes the fastback was nice, but honestly the Scotty grip feels crappy (IMO only - no offence scotty lovers) and the feel off the putter isn't amazing for the price (again IMO!). To make a long story short, a mid-mallet face-balanced gave me the most confidence, and I really don't like looking down at a classic blade. Putting is a real strength of my game, and I didn't need to end up 3 putting for the sake of that silver putter cover in my bag! The YES! Marilyn was a great fit, and I'm sure it'll stay in the bag for many years to come.
  4. Here it is... G15 10.5* & 15.5* Driver & 3W A7 OS 19* & 22* 3H & 4H MX-1000 5I to GW Vokey Spin Nickel 54* & 60* SW & LW Mairilyn 34" Putter Eagles and Birdies Stand Bag 2.0 Cart AD333 Ball Pure Touch Limited Glove DryJoys Shoes What do you guys think? Any suggestions for better/more appropriate equipment to learn golf with? I only started playing 6 months ago and am now HOOKED! I spend hours trawling golf websites instead of studying for my final few exams!
  5. Not cheap in Sydney. I live in the Eastern suburbs, and memberships are closed or not affordable. We have the Royal Sydney, The Australian, The Lakes, NSW, St Michaels, Bonnie Doon etc all within 20 mins drive of me but I wouldn't get a gig at any. To play a round at the best of the rest would be between $40 and $110 walking. Unfortunately $800 membership would only get you membership to a par 28 9 hole pitch and putt... My advice, stay in NZ and play lots of golf!
  6. unfortunately i'm a sucker for marketing so my criteria go: 1. brand of clubs i play (Wilson Staff) 2. colour and appearance 3. functionality (stand bag) a marketer's dream...
  7. haha i wish! i lose a ball a round, unfortunately! well done on not losing any
  8. mulligans defeat the purpose of playing golf. you're only disadvantaging yourself, at the end of the day. i play rarely with 2 freinds who take a mulligan per 9 holes, and end up breaking 100 because of it. not really fair. why not play it as it lies/add penalties and see where your game is really at??
  9. I'm a physio and I had a quick look through your history so far. It's good that you've been medically screened, and that's all clear, however the type of assessment a doctor would do vs a physio is quite different. A doctor is more concerned with making sure there's nothing REALLY wrong with you, and hence the advice of rest and pain killers etc. Not overly helpful is it? A thorough assessment from a sports-trained physio (preferable one who specialises in golf, would be the way to go. I'm reluctant to guess (without assessing you in person), but I will anyway. Referred pain from costochondral cartilage (rib attaching to your breastbone), your favourite diagnosis of intercostal tear, or less likely maybe a stress fracture (this will only show up on a bone scan). Good luck with it mate, hope you're back to golf soon
  10. Played North Bondi (8 par 3's and 1 par 4) for a quick hit. Shot my best ever of 3 over, with a birdie on the second. Took my new putter out for the first time (YES! Marilyn) and I'm in love!
  11. Though not good enough to be top 2 in your bag
  12. I've just gone through the process of buying a new putter - had a fitting and all. Initially I was SURE I was getting a Scotty, but when I went into the store I was all over the practice green. After much much trial and deliberation, I bought a YES! Marilyn. It arrived yesterday and I ended shooting 3 over through 9 at my local. Beat my best previous by 3 strokes! Suffice to say Marilyn gives me great confidence and she'll stay in the bag for years to come. Or until Scotty brings out his new line...
  13. I'm a Physiotherapist in Sydney, Australia. I only started playing golf 7 months ago, but am now very very addicted!
