  1. I had some great moments today, but some garbage as well. Today was my first swing of any club this years. Hit the range and simply pounded all but 1 shot on target with reasonable distance for me. first hold wax aboar 5. I crushed my drive and 3-hybrid and was 6” off the front in too. Putting was lackluster and I got par 2nd hole par 4 intoning regulation but left my birdie putt 2 β€œ short, shells then fell off and finished the front 9 with a crappy 57. Back 9 was better with nothing worse than bogey on all holes until #16 when I took a 10 on a par 4. 🀬. Finished ok and shot 51 on back 9. 108 is garbage but there were a lot of good shots so I have hope. I was frustrated that I ghought my Shot Scope was charged, it was not
  2. On my calendar thx @Hardspoon for putting this together
  3. Voted June 21 & 28. Hoping to see many of you.
  4. Yup, I have Golf Fever. Not a bad winter but I am ready to get out & golf.
  5. Welcome aboard
  6. Both Williams & Allegheny look nice to play.
  7. I may be misreading, but in the upper left quadrant it reads "A majority of players are more likely to hit poor shots when they spend more than a second longer than their average time" (emphasis added by me). It seems to me the study absolutely implies time over the ball vs. their normal pace.. It also references "Consistency" in the bottom half of the graphic.
  8. I've been really absent all things golf since September but have been getting the bug lately. Today in SE Michigan we have our first thaw of the year. It is Sunny and 53 degrees and boy do I want to get on a golf course! Spring is around the corner πŸ™‚
  9. You could go Old School for the cash. The bands do get brittle after time but are cheap to replace.
  10. I would definitely attend if my calendar allows.
  11. Peanut Butter w/ Chocolate Kiss Cookies are high on my list. Sorry, Oatmeal/Raisin are not on my list at all, even thought I do qualify as "Old Man"
  12. Today’s weather was fantastic. Only a very few rain drops on #15 our fore-caddie was great and we asked him To join us again tomorrow. scorecard s little lacking, 57 on front & 52 on back but felt I was actually hitting a few good shots. i only hit 1 bunker and thankfully it was not one of the monsters. Then had dinner overlooking Lake Michigan and watch the bag-piper
  13. Thx, how lucky am I that my wife wanted a golf trip for our anniversary?
  14. So far our 35th Anniversary Golf Trip is going great. Golfed The Fountains & Monarch at Garlsnd Golf Resort on Tues & Wed. Got absolutely perfect weather. On Tues. we had a 2:30 tee time. Nobody in front or behind us. Had a great 3 1/2 hour round, today was 11am Ted and with a full course we still got around in 4 hours. Tonight watched the sunset at Arcadia Bluffs and tomorrow golf the Bluff’s course and the South Course on Friday. Weather is not going to be as perfect but it will be fun.

  20. This is not a private course but it is a higher cost course, $250 per round in season. i fo see what you are saying about what is on the web site, it is just that $25 per player sounds real cheap to me. I may just do $50 each since only 2 of us, $200 total, and add to that if really happy with him.
  21. The cost is $100 for the Group, not "Per Player" and correct, he is not carrying our bags. I would hope he gets $75 ($15 per hour) but have no idea what he actually gets out of that base charge. I do think I need to double the "Standard Per Player" tip since I would not expect the other 2 in our group to tip him/her.
  22. Not with a Caddie but I've been to dinner with people that low-ball tips and know how you feel. I'm going to be positive and expect a very good experience. I was thinking in the $100-$150 range for the tip but not knowing I do not want to accidentally be "That Guy" that is low-ballin them.
  23. My wife and I will be playing Arcadia Bluffs for the first time in a couple of weeks and will be using a Fore-Caddie for the two of us. The course charges $100 + Gratuity. my question is what is a reasonable tip? They indicate @ 4 hours 45 minutes as pace of play so this is a big time commitment by the caddie. The website says$10-$25 per player tip but to me that sounds cheap & insulting for nearly 5 hours of personal service. Any thoughts on what would be appropriate?
