  1. Re: Commercials, need to pay the bills. Also, with only 4 players to watch needed to fill time between shots. Re: Pointless Celebrities, I can't find much to disagree with on this one. Maybe trying to capture interest of viewers that are not 100% into golf and need the side show? Not that I dislike Bill Murray, but they over-expose him at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am so maybe they felt then needed to do it again. Also, not to get political but did not need to get political and have the Trump interview. Would have been better to have a few other tour-pros giving comments. Re: Announcers talking....They always talk too much but as with the pointless celebs, some viewers like that. The key needs to be balance.Insert other media Re: Boring Interviews...Good interviews may help but the interviewee needs to have interesting responses also. Most post-round interviews are weak.
  2. I'm a little curious about some of the restrictions when the tour resumes. I understand the "No Fans" thing but do not understand why not bunker rakes? Could they not easily post a single person on each hole to rake as necessary? That would be 18 people and could easily stay 6+ feet away from each other.
  3. I agree some"Precautions' have goon too far. The Rake being one. It is out in the elements and I would not worry about them. Also, when Michigan initially opened courses it was walking only. I saw no reason why they could not have done the Single Rider from the start. As for whether or not the COVID situation is good or bad for golf we may not know for a couple of years. The positives and negatives will change over time and which will hold is anybody's guess.
  4. If following the rules in Michigan, unless married/same house there is one walker and one rider for every twosome thus the "Rider" is held back a little by the "Walker" in his/her own group which helps limit them catching up on the group in front. Basically, no group is faster than their slowest player.
  5. Our league is down this year, at least for now. We do a split season and some of the older players have opted to skip the 1st half. Partly due to walking and partly due to being "High Risk". I think we lost 2 players for economic reasons.
  6. So true, there are courses I would love to play but walking them is just out of the question for me because they may be very hilly and long distances between some holes. Until 2 riders per cart are allowed I will be sticking to the flatter/shorter courses. As for POP, it is a little slower but it is more "Even Paced" and less waiting on the tee box. Since all foursomes have a couple of walkers it keeps a group with all in carts pushing up on a group of 4 walkers. Yes, we are all a little slower but since not waiting at every tee box it does not feel as slow.
  7. I can't speak for everyone but I am going to the Northern Michigan Resorts this year. Too nice to pass up. I had a trip to Garland (Lewiston, MI) scheduled for May 6-8 and reschedule that to late July. They were great and allowed me to keep my "Early Bird Discount". I am also going to Treetops in early September. For any that have not experienced Northern Michigan Golf, you need to try it.

  9. I thought they said they had 6 cameras at one point, could not put one at the green? Not whining, I enjoyed the event and like all of the players so no personal loss.
  10. From my quick look, Matt's shot looked closer than Rory on #17. Why no camera view of the green to confirm?
  11. My league course had "Raised Noodles" and our rule was if it touches it is a hole out. That clearly allowed some putts counted as in that would have lipped out. Our thought was no controversy. Today we played a course with a plastic "Shelf" @ 1" below the rim of the cup. We had a few bounce off the "Shelf" that we all agreed would have been holed had that shelf not been there. Neither seems perfect to me. I did see a device on line, it was a small "Shelf" connected to a hook. The hold was as deep as normal, you just use your club to lift a hook that lifted the shelf, and the ball, out of the hole. Seemed good except I could see where the wire hook could interfere with some shots. I'll post the link to this device. I AM NOT recommending this, just showing the link so you guys know what I am referring to: This touchless ball retrieval solution is a Cool Golf Thing It's a rare time where you'll want to hook it.
  12. Guess I have been lucky. Been using GameGolf Classic since Spring 2015 and never a problem, never had to reset or anything. Just the recent problems with the server being down. Of course this is the most basic version so less to go wrong with it I guess.
  13. My problem is finding a couple so my wife & I can play with them. Most of guys I know that golf do not have spouses that golf.
