  1. Hate the look of this putter. Looks big and clunky and the white color is ridiculous. Never hit it and probably never will as I feel that looks are very important as far as inspiring confidence in your putter, and as I said the looks of this one are not for me.
  2. TP red is one of my all time favorite balls. It's a great ball to begin with but where it really excels is when the wind starts blowing a bit. You will not find a better ball to play in windy conditions than the TP Red, period. I love this ball...good distance, awesome spin control on short game, great feel off of all clubs. Pick up a dozen and see how you like them
  3. I just went from 6 to midnight
  4. I got a dozen Nike One Vapors from that site and absolutely love them. They check up great, have a nice feel off of all my clubs and are pretty durable. Plus they are definitely on the cheaper side compared to the other balls on your list. I'd try them out if I were you.
  5. Well, I just picked up a used one in very good condition for $140 on Ebay...when I get it I'll play it for a bit and let you guys know what I think. I currently play a TM R7 Limited with a stiff shaft, but due to some recommendations on this forum and the different specs of the Voodoo shaft on the Adams I went with the regular flex on this club. We'll see how that translates, hopefully less fades, more power draws, and 15 yards more distance :)
  6. bump...anyone? [crickets]
  7. Anyone have this driver/have experience with it? Likes/dislikes? How does that Aldilla Voodoo NV6 shaft play? Any idea what the stock length is? Cant seem to find it.
  8. Hey guys. I ended up not purchasing the driver. The one I was looking at was on ebay, and the price climbed just a bit higher than what I considered an "absolute steal" (but the end price was still less than 50% of retail!). This combined with the info you guys provided me with kind of swayed me away from the club. I'll keep my eyes open though. TGW is having insane deals right now on used/demo clubs (extra 15% off) so there are lots of things to look at there for minimum monetary commitment.
  9. I have boxes of Pentas, Nike One Black, TM TP Red/Black, Titleist NXT, and Nike One Vapor in my closet. My newest pickup was the Nike One Vapors from lostgolfballs.com so I was playing them for a few weeks and really like them. Went out to play a round in some windy conditions the other day so I took a sleeve of my TM TP Reds with me and was reminded of why I fell in love with them in the first place...I dont think you'll ever find a better ball to use in windy conditions. So good around the greens too! Had my best round in about 6 months.
  10. Yeah honestly I think the best feature of my current Matrix 5.5 shaft is the low torque, I feel like compared to others it really helps me keep the ball straight on mishits. As far as the Diamana shaft, the one on the driver I hit was a 68 g stiff flex shaft, definitely not X-stiff. It is definitely a potentially great deal, but it's not really an inconsequential amount of money - in other words, I'd still be disappointed if I spent that money and didnt end up liking the club as much as my current one. When I was hitting it at the range, I definitely did hit a few slices (not really low I dont think) but I chalked that up to my swing being a bit off that day as I hit a few other drivers during the same session and was having the same problem.
  11. Well I like my current driver just fine, but it's getting older. I found potentially a good deal on the Z-TX, love the way the club looks at address and have hit it a few times at the local shop and like the way it feels. Problem is, I've never gotten on a monitor with it and so I dont have any concrete numbers to prove to me that I hit it better than my current club. I just figured it's a great driver, has gotten excellent reviews, and I like the way it feels so if I can get it for a steal then why not pick one up? This might be totally backasswards and I could be just kidding myself on this one but I wanted to get some feedback on the shaft change before I did anything.
  12. My wife are very competitive, so golfing together can get a bit intense at times...but at the end of the day we really enjoy it. She's 8.5 months pregnant, and when I took her out this weekend for the first time in probably 2-3 months she was hitting 200 yard drives straight down the fairway and hitting darts up to the green. I was amazed. She ended up shooting 13 over at our local par 64...good thing I shot 10 over :)
  13. the one i'm currently looking at is the Srixon Z-TX in a 9.5 degree. My current driver is a TaylorMade R7 Limited 10.5 degree. I dont have a particularly high swing speed, probably around 95mph or so...it's been a while since I've had it measured. From the diagrams I've seen, they seem to agree that my current shaft is a mid to mid/high launch shaft and the Diamana is a mid.
  14. thanks guys that definitely helps. My current shaft as well as the shaft I am looking at are on that chart. Looks like the Diamana will result in a lower spin rate and a slightly lower launch...I'm a bit concerned with that given that my current driver is a 10.5 degree and the new one I'm looking at is a 9.5 degree. Combining the lower face angle with the lower launch as a result of the shaft could be a bad thing distance wise no?
  15. yeah I was more thinking along the lines of a driver. Thanks for the heads up though.
  16. I currently play a driver with a 60 gram Matrix X-con 5.5 MOI shaft. I'm thinking about picking up a driver with a 68g Mitsubishi Rayon Diamana Blue shaft. Both are stiff flex...I know the Matrix has a lowish kick point, not sure about the Diamana. I dont really consider myself up on shaft specifications and how they affect a driver's performance. My main question is this: what if any differences - positive or negative - could I expect between how these two shafts play given their differences in weight and possibly in kick point? Thanks in advance for any help.
  17. These figures like 30,000 yen, 50,000 yen, 82,000 yen mean nothing to me...what does that translate to in US dollars? I have a friend over in Japan right now for a few weeks...maybe I'll have her pick something up for me if she can find it for cheap!
  18. sexy little sumo 3-wood approach that Tiger hit on 18 the other day huh? Still playing that club after all these years...quality product
  19. #1. Watching him in person (or on TV), I have a VERY hard time believing he is under 200 pounds. He is 6'4" and very well put together...not skinny by any means, very athletically built. I played ball with lots of guys who were around 6'1" 190 and Dustin is much bigger than they were. #2. the part about the long arms is very true. Shorter, stockier guys (or guys with shorter arms) tend to have an easier time lifting the heavier weights. Longer arms are definitely a disadvantage when it comes to throwing up weight on the bench.
  20. After reading this thread I went and hit the superfast TP at the pro shop this morning. Could not hit it straight to save my life. Might have just been that my swing was a bit off, but I think it probably has more to do with getting used to that long shaft...I couldnt square the club face worth crap
  21. have to say he is doing well to be 1 under when everyone else is throwing up all over themselves though
  22. I love when Phil wears those tight shirts. He's looking especially pear shaped slumped over those missed putts today
  23. yup...the important part there is "circuit training". Most golfers will likely not benefit from the traditional weight lifter's routine of chest today, arms tomorrow, back the next day, etc. This type of routine is meant to build bulk. Circuit training (going through a variety of lifting exercises hitting all of your major muscle groups) 2 to 3 times weekly is a better way to build strength and tone without adding excessive bulk, which is what a golfer's objective in the weight room really should be.
  24. my wife uses these things called "brush tees". They are kind of unorthodox, but she got a 3 pack of them for christmas this past year and is still on her first one...she plays about 2 times monthly at least. They are virtually impossible to lose and break, so they seem they would save quite a bit of money on tees. She won't let me use hers, so this is all speculative of course :) http://www.brusht.com/
  25. Have to disagree with you there. Traditionally, the mullet is described as a haircut that is short in the front and long in the back (aka SFLB, aka business in the front, party in the back) which is what Ryo has going on right now. It might not be the traditional southern version where you often find the sides cut very short, but nevertheless it is indeed a mullet. I consider myself a bonafide mullet hunter, and I would snap a picture of that 'do any day! Oh, and I refuse to believe that that guy or anyone in his posse has had the privilege of meeting my sweet, swet Natalie G.
