I don't think it offers some great advantage. I see it as an option some guys like and others don't. In fact, only a small percentage of players use it which leads me to believe if it is so great and such an advantage then why doesn't everyone use it? Many players try it and end up going back to what they did before. Just look at that silly sidesaddle putting technique Bryson tried in the past. LOL!
My opinion, you should NOT have to hit out of a divot "if" your ball is clearly and undeniably in the fairway. Why should anyone be penalized for being in the fairway? I would consider it a penalty due to part of the ball sitting in a depression created by another golfer. The argument can be very subjective but I think this is one of the most archaic rules in golf. If you can play ball in hand all day due to wet conditions then you should not be forced to play your ball from a divot.
Small world!! I was born and raised in FWB. Went to Mary Esther, Bruner, and FWB H.S. I am in Tallahassee, FL now.
Thank you. I get to Orlando a few times a year. I enjoy it.
That's ok, simple fix. All you need is an adaptor for that particular head. you can use whatever shaft you want. Most quality club fitters/builders will an ample supply of various adapters. If not, you can always order one (fairly inexpensive) and take it to the builder to have then install it on the shaft you want installed.
Greetings,
I am a new member from NW Florida. I have been playing golf since I was 10 years old (now over 40) and it is my favorite thing to do. Looking forward to being here.
