  2. Actually, all of the tournaments on our local tour are best ball. We play individual stroke play and best ball (36 holes). I like it better than just a regular tournament because you do get to have a partner. (and whenever your creeping towards that 80 mark, atleast you still have incentive to keep making birdies. lol) I know people mistakingly call scrambles-best ball all the time, but I doubt the tournament director would call it best ball. IDK JMO
  3. three red dots round the number, red for ohio state of course and 3 has always been my lucky number...when im playing bad, i even put osu on the blank side for extra luck. lol
  4. It not a fallacy* (not falicy) at all. I've been a pitcher my entire life and seen some very good baseball players get ruined by football and working out. One of my best buddies growing up was an exceptional player and could throw really hard, worked out for football all year long always because he was All-state, and I was throwing harder than him senior year because he had lost a lot of flexibility and the fast twitch muscles. Pro's can work out everyday and not get hurt by it cause they hit 2000 plus balls a day. Also, they do low weight and high reps which is what your supposed to do. P90x doesn't exactly help you out in that area. You can do low weight, but the workout is still intense. You're wrong that it doesn't affect your body. Every change in flexibility in your golf swing can lead to having to compensate for that change of range in motion.
  5. Been doing p90x all winter. I feel so much better and more confident with the club now. We went to myrtle and I could just feel the difference in every club. I was concerned bout the flexibility aspect of it and gaining muscle mass, so I do the X every other day and do the stretching once a week. I hit in a dome everyday so when I feel like I might have gone too far, I take a week off. Its a great thing for younger people to use to stay in shape and easily fits into any schedule. But like you guys said, it goes away come golfing day #1. I'll just do simple exercises then to stay in shape. and jpalermo- maybe your handicap would drop a bit if you throw a couple of 6000 yard courses in your repertoire. lol Those look like awesome courses man, im jealous.
  6. I think the difference is in their bad days and consistency. When pros don't have their swing, they can still grind out a 72-74 (mostly credited to short game skill). There is a player on our local am-tour that played professionally for awhile. He shoots in the 60's pretty much evertime he steps on the course, but he will still have a bad day of 75-78 every 3 tournaments or so. You can still go low and recover from a 2 over round, but 6 over is pretty much out of it no matter where you are playing.

    Eagles?

Yeah I've had a bunch, but the feeling when the putt goes in never gets old........ jamo- Thats something else to be a 3 and only have one eagle?!? Never heard of that before.
  8. Yeah, I would say once you turned in 33, you started subconsciously putting a little more pressure on yourself each shot. There is a reason pro's always say one shot at a time. Believe me, I've been involved in some train wrecks of my own. They aren't fun! Golf God's are cruel most of the time, but you'll go back to the course again and again because of that 33, not because of the 46. It's the little successes in all the tragedies that keeps us slaves of this game.
  9. Yep, 6-10 more inches on the way. I have the fever so bad I'm bout ready to quit school and move south. lol I'm known to play golf in some stupid conditions so usually I make it through the winter alright. Last year I think I only missed a couple of weekends of playing. We played 9 holes this year with a wind chill around 15 and actual of like 28. I would not recommend that. It was a little too cold even for nuts like me. 30-32 and sun is usually my limit. I haven't seen grass here in Ohio since the week before Christmas besides one warm weekend at the begining of this month. 2 feet of snow on the ground not counting this storm, its gonna be awhile
