  1. I believe side spin and back spin to be related. If you draw a line round the equator of a golf ball and rotate the golf ball in your hand with only side spin the line will stay in the same position. If you start to introduce backspin as well to this ball that line is going to move downwards and away form centre thus reducing sidespin. Maybe not the best explanation but there it is. Kinetic energy on the ball = 1 and this number 1 is made up of both side and back spin.
  2. I think that in practice when you reach around 70 degrees of loft the amount of spin diminishes.
  3. You say that's a weakness but actually statistically the PGA has the strongest field of all the majors in terms of the top 100 players being there and conversely the masters has the weakest field.
  4. I'm just going to throw a few European Tour members names into the mix: Ernie Els, Padraig Harrington, Henrik Stenson, Adam Scott, Miguel Angel Jimenez, Lee Westwood, Darren Clarke, Vijay Singh, Daniel Chopra, Colin Montgomerie, Sergio Garcia, Paul Casey, Retief Goosen, Angel Cabrera....etc...etc.... I sure hope some of these guys manage to get their nationwide status for the coming year or they may run into financial difficulties.
  5. Here's a link to the face on view, lateral movement is something I suffer from, I've been trying to work on keeping that right knee from sliding and stopping my weight form going on the outside of my right foot. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0HGSHfLdoLo
  6. I want to know why the head moves. It must be the consequence of something in the swing, it doesn't just move for the sake of it. By the way the shot filmed here was a slight fade (about four yards)
  7. I'm struggling with the occasional push. I seem to lose three to four inches head height on my downswing and I take very deep divots. Does anyone have any suggestions or drills to work on to stop this? thanks swing vid is:
  8. I think Wilson are the clubs that have been used to win the most number of majors in golf. Also Harrington won the Open this year playing wilson. Adams clubs have had success through Tom Watson's senior career but can't think of any other players who use them.
  9. A vast majority of pros use the overlapping grip, pobably about 90% as a wild guess...but Nicklaus and Woods both interlock
  10. Anna Rawson is "fashion model" beautiful. Natalie Gulbis would never be looked at twice in that way if it wasn't for her good play.
  11. This flag adds colour to the photo, looks good to me.
  12. If you need to go for a pin you wouldn't normally go for in match play then play a bad shot then that is a forced error. Your opponent has made you make this error by outplaying you.
  13. I can't believe sevenfourate plays off scratch when he knows so little about what shapes the ball. Saying that though, I've seen a number of very good players who don't really understand what happens when they swing the golf club but just do it instinctively. For those of you who struggle hitting a draw, aim the clubface right of your target, not at it and not left of it. Adding this to post: Ball doesn't start square with the clubface (except for a pull, push or straight shot) it actually starts within about 1/6 of the difference between the clubface and the swing path. Yes yes I know that means it starts pretty much square to the clubface but not quite :P
  14. This discussion is pointless Scotty Cameron do great putters as do many other companies Treat yourselves to a putting lesson with a qualified PGA pro who specialises in putting coaching and I guarantee that most of you will drop two to three shots a round in a flash (cameron or spalding being in the bag)
  15. that is a "scoop" move, definitely don't do that, put ball further back and hit down - simple
  16. another way to keep from putting weight on the outside of the right foot on the back swing is to shift the right toe slightly left at address
  17. Im a pro actually and I understand my swing fairly well, but its always interesting to get different opinions from people to perhaps get inspiration I have always been fascinated by golf swing mechanics and I own, read and reread virtually every instruction book ever written lol This is my swing sequence down the line. By the way, my head drop isnt nearly as bad as what it looks like in this pic, its just the wya iVe cut the pictures and resized them to put them together that has caused it. http://bp1.blogger.com/_AfD8bYIhJUs/...g+Sequence.JPG
  18. interesting you say that about the weight not being on the right foot. I actually believe I keep my weight on my right foot too much. Can you please tell me though how you are figuring that my swing is too upright on those videos?
  19. stiffer shafts will help lower your ball flight, if your swing speed is over 100 miles an hour witha 3 wood then you definitely need stiffer shafts. Changing will of course cost you money. If you fade the ball, try playing with a draw as that will get the ball going lower, and take more club than you need to get rid of excessive backspin.......million things you could work on really
  20. thanks for your post Dent. It's true I have a very short swing but I still hit my 6 iron 190 and I can push a three wood to the 290 mark as well so I dont really need much more power, it's the control to go with it that would be nice I also know that I lose my head height through impact which certainly doesnt help, anyone have any drills to stop doing that?
  21. Hello all, Ive posted some videos of my swing on youtube. My normal shot is a medium/high fade, though I can hit it both ways. Does anyone have any comments or suggestions? Thanks 6 iron down the line 6 iron face on
  22. Jerry Kelly is using what looks like a Yes Sophia putter to me
  23. Suggest cb's because you hit the ball high so the stronger lofts on the cb's will avoid any ballooning that the mb's will likely give you and also compensate any lack of distance that you will invariably find using pure blades. Also, top line on the cb's is almost identical to that on the mb's.
  24. you sound like someone who would benefit from the 695cb's and not the mb's
