  2. That's right!! RTR...:-D
  3. Hi all. I actually joined this site about 4 years ago, but never really got involved too much. I recently joined my local course (Coosa Pines Golf Club) that I've played on and off since I was a kid. I'm recently separated, so since the course is right across the street from where I work, I plan on spending a lot of my free time working on getting better and also take my young son out and introducing him to the game. I'm looking forward to meeting some new friends on this site as well. Scott
  4. It's a toss-up for me as well. I love my 8 iron, for some reason I've always been comfortable hitting it, even as a kid years ago. It doesn't matter if it's a full swing, half swing, or a bump and run around the green. But I also love my Cleveland CG14 wedge. It has been the easiest club for me to hit that I have ever had.
  5. I have owned a pair of Oakley Half Jacket XLJ's for about 3 years and I love them. I'm still using the regular smoked lenses that came with them, but I might consider getting another set of lenses for golf here pretty soon. I also had a pair of Oakley Minute 2.0 sunglasses for about 4 years that I wore every day until last week when traveling with the family to visit relatives, and I found them broke down in between the seat and the console.
  6. 1. A great wife and kids 2. A steady job with a great company. 3. A great country to live in and for our military that keeps it that way for us. 4. 2009 BCS National Championship Alabama Crimson Tide.
  7. I've also got several to choose from. I mostly drive a 2001 Dodge Caravan, which is good for transporting the family, and it's also nice to keep my clubs and my fishing gear inside. On days I don't play golf or fish I drive either a 2008 Kawasaki KLR650 or a 1995 Nissan Hardbody Pickup that is being slowly customized to satisfy my mid life crisis.
  8. I'll agree with you on that one. I went to the A Day game, and the defense held their own, especially the d-line. I think they'll be fine as the season goes on. We have so much depth now that we haven't had in the last 10 years or so, so with a little luck we should be competing for SEC championships and the occasional national championship.
  9. I did a google search on golf forums, and I'm glad this one came up. This seems like a very interesting forum to get information from. I started playing golf when I was about 7 or 8, but I have never played with any consistancy over the years. I got a friend of mine from work to pick up the game a few months ago, so now I have an excuse to go play more, but with a 20 month old son, my time is limited. Hopefully in the future I'll be able to go play more, and even take my son with me when he gets older. I'm looking foward to talking to all of you and hopefully making some new friends. Scott
  10. Congrats!! For me when I shoot a good round like that, it gives me more incentive to go back the next day or soon after and try to do it again.
  11. All of the courses around here allow jeans, as long as you have a collared shirt. For the most part I play either in shorts or Dockers, but I have played in jeans when I left straight from work to play and forgot to bring a change of clothes.
  12. My main goals are to commit to playing and practicing more, actually enjoying playing more instead of worrying about my score so much, and to obtain an actual handicap to track my progress more accurately.
  13. I work for Nippon Oil Lubricants America. We produce oil, transmission fluid, grease, etc. for the Asian automotive plants worldwide.
