  1. my hands are too small to overlap so i use the interlock. where the pinky meets the palm i have a terrible pain every time i go through impact. has anyone experienced this before? i feel like its bruised. I swing at least 100 times a day (whether it just be swing rehearsal or hitting balls), but that still shouldn't really make a difference. anyone else have any experience with this? does that spot just need to toughen up so it can handle the grip of the club unhinging and putting a lot of pressure on it through impact?
  2. What else does a forward leaning club shaft at impact do besides de loft and add distance? Easier to hit down on the ball with a forward leaning club shaft? I know that this is something golfers should strive for I just don't know why.
  3. Nope, I stand 90% of the time. This hasn't happened before and is bearable to play with, I just wanted to see if it was a common issue with those who swing too hard. I'm sure it'll subside. I just hope it isn't a product of my golf swing. Thanks for the help sean
  4. I often take full swings without my shoes on. If I see something I want to work on (on the forum or what have you) i'll try it out right then and there. I don't see how shoes on or off could make a difference though. Perhaps I swung WAY too hard and tweaked it a little. I don't recall doing it, however.
  5. I'm not really sure if this has to do with my golf swing or if my foot just randomly started hurting, but every time through impact as my right foot lifts off the ground (right handed golfer) I get this terrible strain in the top of my right foot, closer to the toes than the ankle. Has anyone experienced this before? Am I doing something wrong with that right foot? Another place I'm having pain is on my right pinky finger (where I interlock with the left index). Right above where the fingers meet the palm is touching the grip and that's where I have a monster callus as well as some pain through impact on that spot. Almost like it's bruised. It probably is. Maybe it just needs to toughen up. The overlap grip isn't painful at all but my hands aren't nearly big enough to use that grip. I know this is a long shot but I thought I'd check to see if anyone of you knew what was going on. The foot just started hurting a couple days ago.
  6. You can still hit down on the ball while doing this.
  7. Yup in his book he says that the right hand should work slightly under the left hand slightly after impact.
  8. The 7 Laws of the Golf Swing by Nick Bradley. The slap release is used to generate a bit extra power. This would resemble scooping if in fact your body was out of position at impact. Such as your spine angle tilting too far away from the target. This image shows what the hands should be doing, although in this picture he's releasing it too early it looks like doesn't it? I've always been taught about the importance of a forward leaning club shaft at impact. I believe this is the motion your hands make after impact.
  9. - Get all my clubs custom fit for shaft flex, length and lie as well as anything else a pro recommends. Should get this done within the next month. - Achieve and maintain handicap below 7.0 - Average putts below 1.8 - 6/18 GIR - 10/14 FIR - Double or worse per 18 holes: Less than 1.0 - UP and Down saves: 50% - Try to play 2 rounds per week as consistently as I can - A minute per ball at the driving range. Take time to clear head and get completely re focused before whacking another one. - 300 balls a week. 5% driver, 15% woods (3,5), 15% long irons, 30% mid irons, 35% short irons and 52* - Putt 5-6 hours a week. - Chip and pitch 3-4 hours a week. - Get accepted into PGCC in Temecula, CA and begin my college life there in Jan 2011.
  10. Golf skirts are so damn sexy with athletic legs. Michelle Wie looks amazing in a skirt, as much as I dislike everything else about her besides her ability to play golf.
  11. What I believe he's referring to is a "slap" release. I've also heard it called other names such as the "puck" release, but it's essentially where you take your non glove hand and slap it through underneath your glove hand.
  12. It's not the prize money that plays a significant difference in the incomes of LPGA and PGA players, it is the endorsements. First place at the Masters is 1.5mil. Only one higher than that is the PLAYERS at 1.7
  13. Especially on a course you've played many times. You know which holes you can try and take advantage of and which holes you just need to get that par.
  14. So essentially we are aiming far enough right of the target to have the club face still be closed to the path to create the draw spin, but still open to the target which is what causes the ball to start out right and draw back left?
  15. do you mean forward toward the target or ball?
  16. One thing is not up for debate and never has been: a ball curves based on the clubface angle at impact relative to the swing path. A closed clubface relative to the swing path always draws/hooks and an open clubface relative to the swing path always fades/slices: That's the opposite of what you said. You got me all confused!
  17. as straight as you can without locking it though. you want it to still be relaxed
  18. What is the point of trying to stop the follow through short and fast?
  19. Personally, I rank greatness by who finishes the best all year long/career long. So does the official world golf ranking. Although I am not quite sure of their forumula but it certainly has to do with your average finishes and at what events they were at. The person who is best is the one who wins the FEDex cup, period. In the end, all that matters is your score (as well as whether or not YOU are playing the game or the game is playing you)
  20. The europeans were playing the BMW PGA Championship, that's why.
  21. Indeed. I would do the same thing. Yeah, endorsements are always more than they money they actually made on tour that year. If Jason Day was better at age 16, don't you think he would have won a pga tournament then? His injuries set him back, but he definitely stepped up. We will just have to see. Lots of young guns now, it seems like. This decade of golf should be very interesting.
  22. Yeah, I get that. Don't expect more than your capable of. Just expect to play as well as your capable of, everytime. Then, you might even suprise yourself with setting a new "capable of" standard for yourself.
  23. You're right. However, if you play twilight getting on stand by as a single is no problem, even at the nicer courses around here (70 dollars primetime, 25 dollars for twilight). I've never booked a tee time for one person. When I play by myself it's always stand by. because you can make it fun and golf is probably by far the most expensive sport in the world.
  24. That's incredible. I really need to get one of those. I could shave a few putts off per round if I could put an hour a day, everyday.
