  1. You should seriously rename this site to stackandtilt.com.... Do you have any testinmonials, before and afters of average golfers now using stack and tilt? I would like to see what average to high handicap players do with this.
  2. Get your current irons fit to the specs they gave you, will only cost $50 or so for some place to chop them down and bend them. the only problem is if they can't save your grips which would cost you. See how your hitting the irons once fitted and then decide if you need lessons. My moto is, don't spend money on equipment before you take lessons. No matter what the manufactures say, you can't get better using newer stuff, it's just all marketing. New clubs can't fix swing issues but a golf pro can.
  3. I do agree with what your saying but it seems that if you rotate the back side, the front hip will move forward and up through the shot which you would call "slide". As long as your weight is transferring and driving though the shot to your front side while your rotate, the hips will move or slide as you call it. To me it sounds like sliding through a shot is moving your body laterally far too much and getting ahead of it. Just a simple mis-undersanding.
  4. Can you post a video from face on of a good player sliding his hips through the shot. I can see that if you rotate your back side through the shot the front side and hip will move a bit forward but actually "slide"... To me that term is a bit misleading. Cheers
  5. Really? Please explain? If your hips slide through the shot so will your body making it hard to have any consistency with syncing up your swing. Sliding through the shot will equate to getting out in front of the shot and leaving shots out to the right.
  6. Getting custom fit is what every serious golfer should do. Why play clubs that are bulit for a "standard" golfer by buying off the rack. Instead of changing your swing to fit the club, get the clubs to fit your swing!
  7. Take some time off and clear your head. You are trying to guess and what's wrong and have so much stuff going through your head which you don't know for sure is causing your issues.
  8. Every course in my area is in great shape yet we're still bumping the ball everywhere! Makes me so angry because people who hit it in the rough off the tee and around the greens think they deserve a great lie.
  9. Chambers Bay SHOULD not be on that list! Secluded by a bay and not very windy, no holes where the water comes into play as well. Great marketing though on their behalf to have people think it's a seaside course!
  10. Why are you thinking about the OB? Whenever our minds start to think about something, all our focus and attention goes to that, which in this case is OB and a bad shot. Look at the fairway and that spot in the fairway 120 yards out where you want to be. You want to hit it in the fairway so start focusing your mind on the fairway! I have no problems with hitting a club to get into a more comfortable yaradge but if you make bogey at the worst hitting three wood & 6 iron, then why not do that instead of bringing double and triple into play with a hole that has your number? If you're not comfortable hitting a 6 iron from 160 yards, then why not just hit an 8 iron close to the green and pitch it up close and give yourself a chance to make par and bogey at the worst? I use to have the same problem, hit great chips and flops when the shot was harder and screw up the so called easy ones. The reason was because I focused more on the tough shots because they required something special. When I got over the easy ones I was very non-chalant and didn't take my time. Easy thing to do is just focus more and not think of the chip as an easy shot. A good drill for tempo can be seen at the link below in a nice video. Something really cool that I haven't seen many people talk about when it comes to tempo. http://golfinstructionguy.com/wind-golf
  11. A question for you. You said that you haven't had any lessons and you're just picking things up as you go along. Why is this? I can speak from personal experience that getting lessons is the best way to go about improving your swing and game. It's all fine and dandy to get tips and stuff from people on this site and youtube, but how can your trust what these people are saying to you? Do you know if they're certified? Are they explaining things so that you understand based on your learning style? I did this for a few years and took advice from people at the driving ranges but really, they screwed me up even more. I would really looking into getting your swing analyzed by somone with certification. It will help you from stop guessing what's wrong with your swing and identify the things you need to improve on. Chances are there might be one or two things you actually need to work on. For example, you asked a question about your head dipping and now people are pointing out other things in your swing that seem wrong. Now you will be thinking about all these comments and filling your head with more swing thoughts!
  12. Fades are cause by imparting side spin on the ball. Pushes are caused by having your swing path coming from the inside to outside which pushes the ball. The fade portion of the shot is caused by the side spin so your most likely not squaring the club up at impact and imparting a little side spin. Since you say you normally hit the ball with a slight draw your swing path is probably very rounded. The problem with this is that your timing has to be VERY good to square and release the club through impact to hit it straight. If you don't, you'll hit push fades, if you over compensate, you'll hit duck hooks. The ball position will not really change things so I would focus on swinging back and into the ball on straighter lines to eliminate using your hands to release and square the club.
  13. Accuracy is all about keeping the clubface as square as possibe through the impact zone while entering the impact zone on a fairly straight club path. Rory had a great weekend where his lower body and upper body were synced together and he was stripping it. Faldo even said he was hitting the ball all over the map at Augusta because he was out of sync. It's not like he is Jim Furyk and hits it straight conistently. His timing was simply on for 2 rounds!
