Because they have gotten about 8 million worth of national advertising for the 1 million dollar purse.....If I where a Kodak stock holder, I would be happy with good investments. The purpose is not to necessarly sell a specefic product, but to continue to have the public identify a brand and keep your brand relivant.

I saw an artical that stated that Phil w/ endoresments, partnerships, winnings and apperance fees he is worth an estimated 700 million

99% of the public do not have to pack up and leave their families for extended periods of time (4 and 5 weeks at a time). Contrary to popular belief, not all touring pros are millionaires!

Good thing about the Master's...it is a PGA sanctioned event, However, They are not governened by the PGA and can do what they want. Minus Tiger most of the top players competer in roughly 25-30 tournaments. I know some of you are saying that you wish you could only work half the year, but think about it this way. How would you like to leave your family for 3,4,5 maybe 6 weeks at a time. I can tell you from personal experience, it SUCKS! The tour has tried to push rivialries, now they are pushing the "under 30" crew with the real Tiger being MIA, Phil's family and health issues..they are looking to change the gaurd. Odly enough, I think they trying to push an America vs. the world agenda....just a thought?

That was in reference to golfers coming from the European and other tours. I'm aware he is from Zimbabwe .........probably my "favourite" too.

That is a combination of using a less duriable ball or one that might have lost some of its attributes due to facotrs like weather or sitting in water. Then it is a downward strike on the ball, catching the ball before any turf. Letting those groves do their job and spin that little white rock. I use ProV1x's because they have a slightly more durable cover. I still have to swap a ball out every 9, because I do have a tendency to "chew" on them with my wedges and short irons. I play alot of spin. Good Shot!

Yep Augusta, is so similar to Congressional, Cherry Hills, Pebble Beach, Whistling Straits, Harbour Town, Sea Island.....I don't know how anyone tells them a part. Give me a break, If you step foot onto any of these courses you would see that they are "hilly" and "contoured". Dont mistake TV production for course layout. Both Tours play just as many cookie cutter courses. Just because a few of the top players in the world are on the Euro tour, doesnt mean the PGA tour is crashing. Just because the USA ties England in the World Cup, does not mean that European Football is going down the toliet. Historically there have always been a few Europeans that are very competitive in the PGA. Nick Price, Faldo, Seve, Jose...I think other than Sergio for a while, we have been missing that and we are just returning to normalcy. Every year they search for that Euro player that will compete; Appleby, Allenby, Stenson, Westwood for years...they are just finally coming to fruition (yes, I know Stuart and Robert are not European). As far as Westwood turning down his membership in the PGA, everytime I "flick" on the tele, Lee is over here golfing it up, so as long as the purses and endorsements are flowing like milk and honey...the bees will be here. The PGA tour is fine, and as strong as ever!

I think we mistake focus and an intense will to win for bad attitude...

Go to your local Golf box store and get a club fitting (i.e. color dot), then tyr and find them.

I think you have to ask yuoself a few questions. How long will I keep these? Do I plan on really trying to improve my game? If you plan on keeping them a while, I would look at a set of used Ping's like the i2's or i3's for around $200. Pings are a cast club, that will last and they have alsways made a quality product. Then take the other $300 you would have spent and go get lessons. If you are looking to get a new set of game impovement irons, I cant really help there. Cast vs. Forged. Forged usually have a much softer feel to them. They generally are more expensive and more of a "gamer" iron. They are also more suseptable to knicks and bag chatter

I agree with the statement that, Imada should have known better. He messed up, and he realized it and took the apopriate steps...should it occured, no! I just irriitated when individuals that are ignorant about the person or the situation involved make hatful statements

To match my white belt!

Why don't you just go to a range that uses new ProV range balls????? Just kidding. I find it very frustrating, when working a new club to gauge a distance. Two much math, I went to Georgia schools I can do all those percentages and stuff!
-
oHHHH, so you know that Ryuji is lazy and a idiot??? I swear, we on this board are the most judgemental people. I will clue you in, Mr. Imada is a tireless worker and far from an idiot. We should be applauding these guys for taking their lumps like a man, instead of like the rolemodels of the other major sports.

Oh no....There is alot more there...run with it!!!!

I played it this week....Like the club. It has a nice feel, Like the setup and sound. It is very similar to its earlier cousins. However, at least a Master in engineering is needed to make adjustments, with their little chart. It was a bit cumbersome, but I guess once you find your ideal settinf you would leave it anyway. I'll take my i15 all day long!

Elk was walking and rattling his clubs in Bubba's back swing on numerous occasion and he said said something off color to his caddie..specefically about Elk and tour veterans....it was picked up by the TV coverage mics and portrayed as though Bubba yelled it at Elk, which was far from the case. So just a case of media sensationalizing something...big suprise!
-
WOW...this thread went to hell in a hurry.....do any of you have a comment about Poulter's hair...maybe how Stewart Cink is more of a autumn skin tone, and should not have a black golf bag????? If you can fire back to back 67's on a tour course, you can be any kind of Ho you want to be.....heck ask Tiger you can be an actual Ho if you want to be!
-
First off, that whole Elk thing is way out out of context....that was something said to his caddy that was picked up by a mic. I'm sure you would like to be mic'ed for a round and have someone pick out what to air, considering you are one of the more "positive" posters on the forum. Secondly, Bubba is 100% crystal clear on the sacrafices of a solider, marine, sailor, airman and their families. His father, that recently passed, was a freakin Green Beret. Bubba does as much for the military and its soldiers as anyone on tour. He knows exactly what these men an women put on the line. I dont know why you insist on being such a negative poster, I would expect much more from a forum "leader"....

Goodbye Ping Hoofer Bags
Bigtank replied to deronsizemore's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
I have used Hoofers all through juniors, high school and college golf. It was the gold standard for bags, I still have it from college. Our last year, we switched over to Nike gear, and I hate that little foot. -
How many rounds have you played with him???? You are manking un-informed judgements about a guy, on ZERO evidence! I am proud to say I know the guy, and have played quite a few rounds with him both recreationally and competitivly.
-
Bubba is one of the most down to earth guys ever, He has not changed since College....well maybe some cooler toys!
-
Both Rory Mac and Ricky Fowler were +4's at their last amatuer status.

The difference.... I posted this on another thread...several weeks ago, I played with a buddy of mine and current PGA tour member. We played a respectable Nationwide course 75.2 / 142, 7440 yds. I put togther a good round and shot a 68 (-3). My partner just out realxing, with several beers, shot a 62 (-9). That is the difference between a touring pro, and a typical plus handicapper. They have the talent, coupled with the time and menas to put in hours of practice towards their goals.

That is a scorecard from Augusta National Golf Club....this is totally seperate from the Masters. These are scorecards from the club house, an actual tournament scorecard has a tear off section on the bottom, and has a printed label on hit, with the competitor and their marker listed. It also does not have the Augusta National Logo on it, it has the Master's Logo. These are available in the Augusta clubhouse for someone that has a clubhouse pass, or visits during non tournament times. Here in Georgia, things with the Master's logo are common...now a shirt with the Augusta National Golf Club logo those are something special.
