  1. A bit of clubhead manipulation then. Seems true that the body shifts laterally to accommodate the ball positions.
  2. Interesting. So that would mean most of us are moving our weight forward to accommodate a forward ball position? Makes sense. Otherwise we'd be hitting it with a closed face with driver. It always puzzled me because 7 iron is roughly in the middle or slightly forward for most people, and driver is off the instep. So if the 7 iron is square in that position, that would make the driver face closed in its instep position. But we must be pushing forward more with the longer clubs to hit it square. Thanks.
  3. It puzzles me how a ball can be hit straight, when we are told to put it forward of centre in the stance for the long irons and driver? With the shorter irons having it roughly in the middle makes sense because that's the bottom of the swing arc. And where square would be. But wouldn't having the ball further up the stance for longer clubs promote a left of the target strike? Due to the club striking the ball on the left side of the swing arc?
  4. Old thread I know but here's how I beat this problem. 1. Hit balls in a net. And don't care less where they are going! Then do the same on the range. The idea is to get a full swing, not where the ball goes. 2. A full finish real swing. Which means I'm hitting through the ball, not at it. Chances are if you are hitting at it, not only is the backswing short, but you have an abbreviated finish. 3. Trick yourself. Set up to the ball, tell yourself you are doing a practise backswing to the top. Throw it up. Wait until you see that clubhead in the corner of your eye. Then in that moment decide to release through the ball to a full finish. 4. Hit a thousand until it's there. On the course, just trust its there and play to the target, not your swing.
  5. I have a golf buddy I've played with for 25 years. He is a very lucky golfer, I'm the opposite. I'd say 95% of rounds I would get more bad breaks than good breaks. But I put it into perspective, I've been very lucky in life. My buddy on the other hand not so..
  6. The Ventus Red mate. Yeah very expensive these days. Luckily I am very picky, otherwise I'd be broke.
  7. Id planned on getting a fitting. However when I looked through the shafts/specs there was only one that suited me from previous history. I think this setup will give me a lot of confidence. I felt that even if i did get a fitting with all the other shafts, I wasn't prepared to pay extra for an upgraded shaft anyway. Given how expensive this driver is already. There was also a couple of other little reasons I ordered without a fitting. Everything weighed up and it was a no brainer really. That was a month ago, and I don't have buyers regret yet, so that's a positive thing 😅
  8. Stealth driver. Probably won't be seeing it for a good while yet by the sounds of it.
  9. I've been playing the Srixon Q star divide balls since their release mid last year. Srixon have just launched the Z star divide in the US. However here in Australia I'll have to wait another month or two. But I did manage to buy mint secondhand balls from a reputable seller here, who source there balls from overseas. Since then a couple of odd things have emerged. Amongst the dozen I bought there was a random yellow/orange Z star divide. I like that colour in the q star, so I thought I'd research them. Thing is they don't seem to exist in that colour. And the other thing is I found a year old picture of the standard white/yellow Z star divide. Thats 12 months before the official market release date! Very confusing. Have these Z star divides been around in the US for a while, and only just been officially released?
