  1. Ive been playing for about 2.5 years......knowing what i know now......i would have taken way more classes early on......i wasted alot of time trying to learn on my own.... improvement can come faster by taking classes... Good luck....
  2. 50 front, 47 back... 97!!!!! my best round this year( started april of this year)--- beating my 102 that i scored several weeks ago.
  3. ive played in a few tournaments this year-- and ive been too concerned or nervous lol... to worry about what the other guys in my group are playing/using.... i might look at my friends bag-- but that about it...
  4. Congrats... did you save the ball? I started around april of this year-- and got my first birdie in June. (but none since then....lol) Today i broke 97--- (had 2 birdie putt misses...) beating my previous best score at my home course of 102 that i did several weeks ago. Congrats......!!
  5. last day of the tournament, last group of players.... faced a Par 3 150 yds. I took out the 6 iron-- and my friend said-- Try the 5 iron and swing 3/4.... so i did it and got it perfect. 7 feet from the hole. The closest to the pin was 5 feet... was damn close to winning that... My birdie put was lined up perfect--- was just alittle too much juice-- it popped out of the hole..... then 2 more putts to sink it But was was favorite shot of the week!!!
  6. Congrats-- I played in my first company tournament outing a month ago.. and last weekend my first real tournament. 2 days ( 111, 102) and finished #4 ( out of 12) in my category 25-30 handicap on our home course. nervous on the first tee--- after that i was fine... i really should have finished #3... cause the guy who won our group was no way a 25 handicap.... he shot like mid 80 on both days lol I play in another 2 day tournament on a harder course this weekend--- more players-- im just enjoying the experience and meeting new players/members.... good luck!!
  7. Im new to golf still ( 6-7 months now) my handicap is 30.... i take lessons once a week and try to play 18 holes -27 holes per weekend. The last tournament i played in-- i used the 3h for all my par 4/5 tee shots and #2/#3 shots on those long holes. Really helped... I love the 3h and gives me lots of confidence....... probably hitting it around 180 yds on average. On the average of 10 shots, i bet 7-8 are solid shots--with only 1-2 going right..but very manageable. This morning i tried the 5 w to see the difference vs 3h. Of my 10 shots on average i probably hit 4 ok, 4 decent, 2 bad. I think i had about 20 yards further on the solid hits... most were about the same...but my direction was all over the place. Im going to continue to practice with the club .... I have a tournament this weekend-- and im not sure ill bust out the 5w yet.... probably stay with the solid 3h play for now. Eventually i want to get comfortable with the 5w and use that practice/confidence to then work on the 3 wood/driver. ( too many slices..)
  8. I have been playing with a 3h Callaway Diablo ... one of favorite clubs. hitting it solid around 175-200 yds. I use this off the tee and deck...
  9. Sara Brown!!!!
  10. Ok guys... appreciate your checking out this post and please give me your thoughts on the following situation. Just some background info to help give an idea/background. Ive been playing golf now for about 6 months......Im playing ok...shooting in the high 90s, low 100...been taking lessons every week and play 18-27 holes per weekend. I am committed to getting better as im hooked on this game.. I have been invited to play in a golf tournament in Germany for a company outing. Will be my first tournament.. they will have two categories by handicaps--- so ill be playing with other golfers in my level... 1 day event... nice place.. since its a company outing... some will play serious while others will just drink and have fun.. Finally my question.... if you were in my shoes-- : 1. Should i bring my own clubs? Pros: 1. I have a hybrid Bagboy Travel Case that is makes traveling easy with the clubs... ill probably take my driver, 3 wood, 3H, 5-9 irons, pw, sw, putter.--- so 10 total clubs..vs my regular set of 14.. 2. I get to play with my own clubs...having more confidence with my equipment-its what im used to... vs whatever the club may have to rent... Cons 1. its only 1 day.. 2. I might feel kind of stupid bringing my clubs and playing like crap..... The only other happy medium: If i could have my 3H... then i'd feel alot better about playing..since i tend to use this club alot--- especially if im struggling with the driver.... ill take less distance and go with accuracy. 2. Could you take 1 club as a carry-on in a plane? eg. like a 3H? Ive seen people take tennis rackets and canes--- but never seen anyone take 1 club... is it possible? what if its a driving range bag...can that go as carry on? something like this.. http://www.ebags.com/product/samsoni...nge-bag/115286 if i had to check it in.... i think i might as well bring my whole set.. Im leaning towards taking my bag....i think it would be fun to be in my first tournament with my own stuff... if i play bad.. i play bad.. whatever.. more motivation to get better... but i need to be realistic and practical too.. Thanks for all your posts.....

    P90x

im 32.. 5´ft 9 and before starting the program i was 190 lbs...out of shape..beer gut. after hearing good things about p90x...i decided to try it.... i struggled walking 18 holes.. and i was embarassed by older guys who were in much better shape... im now on day 17 ( although i have really done 22 days.... because i restarted the program after doing the wrong videos on the first week). i changed my diet.... i cut sodas-beer out my diet...eliminate fast food or bad food.... drink only water all day long.... followed the diet plan as close as possible.... 1. I use dumbells... started with 5lbs week one..... 10 lbs week 2 and now 15lbs on week 3 (im thinking of getting bands in case i travel) 2. i am only drinking chocolate with milk after the workouts 3. In 2 weeks i dropped 11 lbs... weighing 179 lbs right now.. i feel soo much better.... more motivated... no problems walking 18 anymore.. more energy.. etc 4. i think so... because one of my biggest weakness was my legs and core... and have worked on this soo much now... feel more balanced.. 5. so far i havent'''' but im thinking of buying a protein supplement... i substitue the pull up bar with dumbells....
  12. on the course that i play.. the grounds crew will continue to work while the golfers shoot...(until your on the green) . however i always flash them a thumbs up before shooting and wait for them to acknowlege or wave back telling us to go........
  13. ill watch it cause its golf... dont care who Haney is teaching... i enjoy the golf channel....
  14. I did it today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! wow!!! very excited..... saved the ball and will write the date and course.... awesome!!! i played 36 holes today... was at the club all day. walked 18 first then used the cart for the second round...... i birdied on the second round on hole no. 17... its one of easiest on the course..a 300 yd par 4 with narrow fairway and woods to the right and left.... i actually teed off with a 5 iron....(my second round i was struggling with the driver but crushing this iron all day) hit it about 180 yds straight down the fairway and then hit a pw 120 yds ...landed just right right of the hole.... leaving me with a 5 or 6 foot putt for birdie..... and booom... got it done.... i finished 52 on front 9 and 44 on the second 9 on ,y second round....... first round i did not keep score...played as pratice... i struggled with my SW all day....hitting way too hard and messing up my approach shots... but the back 9 played much better..... what a great day.....
  15. i use pw for 110 to 115, sw for 20 to 100 lw or sw for under 20 or 15...
