  1. I really like the Callaway 04 Big Bertha woods. They can be had for $50 or less if you look. They were one of Callaways most extensive offerings. You could get any thing from a 3 wood to I think a 9 wood with + woods available too. Very easy to hit from all lies and accurate too. I don't list it in my sig, but my 04 BB 4+ is probably my favorite wood. My "golf disease" keeps me trying new clubs though so it rotates in and out.
  2. Back on Topic: My name is VolunteerGolfer, and I have use Mothers and/or Ziano car polish on my woods. What can I say? My wife says I'm OCD.
  3. Does anyone have this shaft in a wedge? I have the Project X Flighted 6.0 in my irons. I'm considering buying new wedges before the end of the year and am thinking about this shaft. Most wedges come with some form of True Temper/Dynamic Gold. I don't necessarily dislike this shaft, just thinking about putting the same shaft that's in my irons in m wedges.
  4. I play solo often. It allows me to play at my own pace. Also, I can focus a little more on my game when I'm working on something. Which I've been doing quite a bit lately as I'm trying to change my swing and get more consistent.
  5. I say if they own the land it's up to them. Most will have a busy season when the course will be busy. The rest of the time it will be slow like you have seen.
  6. I played early today, temp was still 90 by the time I finished. The course I played was an executive course. 7 par 3's and 2 par 4's. Par 29 1500 or so yards. I played twice, shot 32 and 31. I normally walk but road today. There were two men playing two groups ahead that were walking. I estimate one was 65-70, the other was 45-50. Apparently the 65+ man was not doing well in the heat as they had to call the clubhouse to come get them. Be careful out there guys. Plan ahead, plenty of fluids and cover, and don't overestimate your ability to cope with the heat, it will bite you.
  7. Others better that me will reply, however this is what I do when I'm struggling with chipping. When I struggle I use one club for chipping. Usually my PW. I don't try to hit any fancy shots, I just try to chip and run. I keep the club low on the way back and on the way through, almost like a putting stroke. This helps me get back in the grove and hit other types of short game shots better as well.
  8. They get excited about how far they hit the ball, and have to tell someone. Besides it wouldnt be "cool" to start a post and say "I belted one 245 today".
  9. In my best David Feherty voice "nice ball".
  10. Carling gets on my nerves, but I think its great she is being herself. She is confident and she is showing it. Carling/Sara would be a good final. Based on what the show has shown us they don't really like each other. That will make for a better final than two players that like each other and don't want to see the other loose.
  11. I have a 50, 54, 58, & 64. I usually only carry two during any given round. It all depends on the course and how I'm playing. Lately however I have been using my PW for more and more pitch and chip shots. It has helped my consistency, even when using the other wedges in my bag. As others have said though 7i, 8i etc can be used effectively as well if you practice, something I don't do enough of.
  12. Arnt we all. Short game, putting, and consistancy. All three I have problems with.
  13. Well done!
  14. I have one and love it. It has been accurate and long. I have the 10.5 stiff. I haven tracked my distance but I' usually around 260ish total. 250-270 range. Shot dispertion is tight as well. Most of my miss hits are still playable.
  15. Dang it, well atleast I didn't upset max power.
  16. I play alot as a single so mine would be slow play. If you want to play slow, fine, but let me play through. Another pet peeve is non golf related. People who dont use couldnt care less. How often do you hear someone say I could care less? Really? So if you could care less, why are you telling me? Its I couldnt care less. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh.
  17. Mine usually happen when I dont focus while chipping. When my mind wanders I usually end up hitting a fat 4' chip. That will make for a hard hole.
  18. A couple of extra wraps should do the trick.
  19. A dozen Nike Tour D balls. I've never used them, thought I would give them a try this weekend. Probably not going to happen though as I have been fighting some kind of cold/sinus infection or something for a little over a week now. My head feels like its going to explode. Maybe next weekend.
  20. I use the marker that is part of my divot tool.
  21. I use Club Glove Glove skins. I'm also very anal. During the round I wipe the clubs clean then recover. Then either when I get home (if I'm not playing the next day) I will clean my clubs. After cleaning I leave them uncovered. I don't cover them again until the next day to insure they are dry. Now if I'm playing multiple days in a row, i will wait and do the cleaning after all rounds are finished. It's your equipment, take care of it like you want to, not how someone else tells you you should. Also, it really dose not slow play as it only takes an extra second to put the cover on after cleaning with a towel.
  22. I am not a doctor and I did not stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night. So take this for what you paid for it. Ibuprofren for the infalmation and maybe some glucosemine for you joints.
  23. Ok, I guess I was thinking penalty then the drop. But the drop is the penalty stroke.
  24. So lets say I could not find the first ball. With the provisional in the water, after a drop I'd be laying what 5?
  25. 1st tee time of the day if you can. When you finish its still early morning, and before the heat of the day.
