  1. Pretty much our "guy humor" as well... fun mean.
  2. Played a scramble yesterday and stuck one 1 foot to the pin on a par 3 closest to pin challenge from 140 out with a 9 iron. Won a free round of golf. :)
  3. You are not alone.

Maybe this guy was practicing for a bet. I've heard of big bets where the object was to shoot under a certain score in an insanely short amount of time... like shoot in the 80's in 1 hour.
  5. I have to agree with this... Tiger was the greatest golfer in the field well before his muscles got big. He attained his physique over time.
  6. I pick Tiger to beat Jack... but Tiger over Phil this weekend/year? Don't think so.
  7. Yeah, I figured he knew that after I posted and realized what his HC was. :)
  8. He's actually working on keeping upright and not dropping his head so much on the downswing.
  9. Get out of the car, walk the bag to the drop area, pay for the round, then stretch. Toe touches and standing twists. Sometimes I'll pull the driver out and do some slow tempo swings. As far as hitting balls... No matter what, I always hit the practice green for putts. I start with a handful of balls from 4-6 feet. Then I'll move way back and hit a couple for lag. I try to spend at least 10 minutes on the practice green right before we tee off. If we can get to the course more than 1/2 hour early, I'll hit the practice tees and swing through the bag... usually not more than 5 balls per club.
  10. I'd like to reiterate for page 2... playing 2 balls is really not an etiquette issue. If/when the course is backed up, playing 2 balls is not uncommon, especially for a single or twosome. What is an etiquette issue, however, is driving a ball into the group ahead of you. I see from your profile that you are pretty much new to the game and that you're an educated person, so instead of beating you up about it, I'd just like to instill a bit of golf etiquette on you... let's make the right decisions on the course from now on now that you know how big of a deal this selfish and dangerous act was.
  11. After following a 79 with a frickin 97, played a course I have never played before (thought I did but it wasn't the course I was thinking of) and shot a 91. I'll take it after the 97, not to mention I felt like I only played a handful of decent shots.
  12. Had a chip in from 15 yards off the green and 15 feet of green to the pin. The ball hit the fringe (just a tad short of where I wanted it to hit) and rolled in an arc to the back of the cup. Saved par on a par-5 with a bad drive and a duffed 3 wood.
  13. Good job man! Just think, "5's or less on every hole" and you'll get in the 80's consistently before you know it. Golf is all about saving scores (for us mortals that can't do FIR/GIR on every hole).
  14. You sir, are an a$$hole. End of story.
  15. Well, then he can honestly say he's been at the top and the bottom of the heap. If nothing else, this performance will give him much perspective.
  16. People post Generation-X use swear words in a different way than previous generations... pretty much Tiger's age and below. Not sure how old all you guys are that have big problems hearing these cuss words, but I hear them everywhere and use them more than I'd like to admit (I am 36). Even the F-bomb isn't a big deal to younger generations like it used to be. This ain't Mayberry anymore. Sad, but true.
  17. I kind of agree... (I'm always a looking for a wag-the-dog style conspiricacy)... I feel like he's playing so poorly on purpose right now so that he doesn't even have to consider being a pick for the Ryder Cup. Since he hasn't won any majors this year, he might do the same thing at the PGA Championship as well just to not be hassled with the Ryder Cup. Hard to say that because he's such an alpha male competitor... but I feel like I have to beleive he's playing possum because I love [edit] his golf game [/edit] so much. (There, I said it) :) I just think he's writing off this year for image reasons, among others. We'll have years and years of Tiger on top. You guys wait and see.
  18. And I'll admit that you are right... missing a putt and still making $650,000 is a good "problem" to have.
  19. Not sure which point you are trying to make. If I lost almost 1/2 million dollars because of one little spike mark I would be through the roof as well! I'd probably break my putter in half and stab my caddie in the heart with it.
  20. *After a duffed shot where the ball only goes about 4 feet... Me: "I see what your problem is." Friend/playing partner: "What?" Me: "You are standing too close to the ball... AFTER you hit it!"
  21. Coming off a 79 last weekend, I shot a frickin' 97 yesterday. 1st hole fairway>green>2 putt par... I'm thinking here we go... nope. Hit big bomb drives all day but they would trickle left or right off the fairway behind trees. I had 9 punch outs back to the fairway! Putter never woke up... 1 one-putt all day and 3 three-putts. Two 8's , a 7, and five 6's on the card. Unreal. I finally had enough and had a little 'blow-up' on 18. Wanted to go another 18 but we would've had to wait 45 minutes to tee off. Probably best I didn't go again and get really frustrated. Playing tomorrow at a course I haven't played in years but I know I used to like it.
  22. Does that count as FIR?
  23. Build your own Excel spreadsheet to do what msd3075 suggests... http://www.ehow.com/how_5716678_calc...aps-excel.html
  24. I have an Excel spreadsheet that calculates the handicap index. Here is the site that explains how to create it: http://www.ehow.com/how_5716678_calc...aps-excel.html Or you can shoot me a PM and I'll email it to you.
