  1. 8/4: 39 @ Brooklawn Golf Course (Dewitt, NY). 6 pars, 3 bogeys. Made key par putts on holes #3, 4, 7 & 8. Hit 2 of 6 fairways, 4 of 9 GIR.
  2. I am a golfer with a software engineering problem
  3. Hi Chris. I use to enjoy watching the En-joie stop as it was opposite the British Open every year. It seems though the PGA is now stopping up in my neck of the woods over at Turning Stone now, but it also is across from a big event (Firestone). I'd like to get down your way and play En-joie sometime.
  4. These things I have been working on over the past couple of weeks: 1. Shots < 50 yds. I have struggled with this part of my game for years. I have started to analyze my lie before picturing my shot. The goal here is to get shots within 10 feet for a makeable putt. 2. Left-to-right putts. I feel I struggle with these putts being right-handed and sometimes I don't get my putter head back to square on my follow-through, so I'll leave a lot of these putts below the hole. I have been using a Mickelson drill expect spread the balls out to only have L-to-R putts. 3. Swing tempo with my woods. I have always been a good iron player, but inconsistent with my woods (inc. driver). I've taking a mental approach to get back to using the same tempo with my woods as my irons (as Penick would often teach).
  5. I have been checking these bags out on eBay as well, but have been hesitant to pull the trigger on one. Do you carry your clubs a lot? I have been using a pull cart more in the last year and a half to save my back and was wondering if this bag would fit nicely on my cart so I can easily access all of the pockets. With my current bag, only one side of the pockets can be accessed because of how the bag sits on the cart.
  6. Augusta National is 1st on my list. With all the tradition there, it's a must play. Courses that I have on my list to play: Pebble Beach (done - June 2002) TPC Sawgrass Pinehurst #2 Oak Hill (private course in the town where I grew up) Oakmont CC St. Andrews
  7. Most recent store purchase(s) @ Golf Galaxy: - Adidas Tour360 4.0 Sport Golf Shoes - FootJoy StaSof golf glove (greatly needed!) - TaylorMade Penta golf balls I'll be trying out a few Penta's this week in my league. I have already worn the shoes once and they are a major upgrade to the shoes I've had for the last seven years.
  8. With my irons, it depends on what my shot looks like. If I need to hit a draw, I use an overlapping grip and play a small push-draw. If it's a normal shot or a cut shot, I use an interlocking grip. My driver is a neutral set-up (0.5* open) so I either play a straight shot or a baby-fade off the tee. If I need to, I can play a push-fade (like Trevino).
  9. I've been playing a lot of Callaway golf balls since I tried out a box of HXHot last year. Right now I have played the Warbird and the tour(ix). I find that if I need a bit more distance, I'll pull out the Warbird. When I need to stop it on the green, I use the tour(ix). League nights, the greens are hard so I play the tour(ix). However, after reading a post on the website, I'm interested in trying out the new TaylorMade Penta's. In 2002, TaylorMade started making a two-piece ball and I love it. Then, they stopped making them and I was disappointed. I'm intrigued how this new ball will perform. On a side note, I have tried the Titleist NXT and Pro V1x and I do not like them. Based on how I play they do not work for me.
  10. I look for four dimples that make a good diamond pattern to the left of the number and mark them (birthstone, baseball fan). I like to use blue since most balls I see use red or black.
  11. The greatest tournament that I ever watched was Jack's Sunday back nine @ Augusta in 1986. I think to compare Tiger and Jack is tough, but I'd like to see Tiger come from BEHIND for once to win a major. I know that Tiger is setting a bunch of records and a lot of comparison between their two careers is based on major wins (because we all know that is the record Tiger wants). All of the majors that Tiger has won he has had at least a share of the lead going into the final round. Jack didn't always have that. If Tiger can win one or two majors by coming from behind on Sunday, I'd be willing to say that Tiger is better than Jack. But you can't argue that both are phenomenal athletes during the time that they played.
