  1. That's really cool I'm interested in knowing your experience in South American countries, since golf tourism is not as developed as in Central America and the Caribbean
  2. Well, this thread might be more centered in the US but I want to share my next trip. I live in Colombia and I've just began my journey in golf, I'm soon to get my handicap, but I will technically have a golf trip this month. My dad is visiting from Switzerland and some friends are gonna come to Colombia to play golf, so I will join them. Why not? It'll be like a golf bootcamp for me. It's gonna be a 2-week and 8-game trip in Bogota, Cali, the Coffee Triangle and Medellin in some really cool courses that I have visited but not played in before. So let's see how it goes, maybe I'll post an update.
  3. Thank you! I'm taking some lessons with an instructor and try to go weekly to a pitch & putt public golf course to practice. Also this month my dad is visiting from Switzerland, so we will definitely play some rounds together and will receive his feedback. Thanks again, I will enjoy this forum for sure!
  4. Thanks a lot. I'll make sure to check it out.
  5. Hi everyone! I'm Frank, I'm a Swiss living in Colombia since 2015 who's just starting to discover this intriguing sport! I worked in finance for 20 years in Switzerland, then I traveled around the world and finally I decided to settle in this beautiful country to start my company. Now I run a luxury tour operator here. I've always been close to golf (my dad and some close friends play back home) but I just started to learn. Colombia is actually a dream golf destination in my opinion, it has it all, all year round and is still undiscovered. Smth to pique your curiosity 😉 This week I played my first 9-hole course, lost so many balls haha but I'm excited to get better so that I can play all the courses in my adoptive country! Also, I got this set from a friend (not sure if the descriptions are "well" written). Driver: Callaway Epic MAX LS Driver Wood: Callaway Epic MAX 5 Wood Regular (Project X HZRDUS Smoke iM10 60) Irons: Ping Eye 2 Irons 4-9 Wedges: Ping Eye 2 Wedge PW, Ping G2 SW Hybrid: Nickent 3DX IW RC 23° 4 Hybrid Regular Flex SR 2.5 Putter: MD Golf Superstrong STR40 #1 Putter Ball: TaylorMade Distance + So any advice/insight for beginners is appreciated! best, Frank
  6. I worked in finance for 20 years in Switzerland, now I run a luxury tour operator in Colombia and I actually offer custom-made golf trips throughout the country. I've always been close to golf (my dad and some close friends play) but I just started to learn. This week I played my first 9-hole course and I'm excited to get better!
  7. Swiss living in Colombia since 2015, can I consider myself a Colombian? 😆
  8. Hola!! Todo bien? Not that I know of, but maybe. The closest would be Ruitoque in Bucaramanga

  10. Hey there, new member here (also a newbie player)! I voted All Weather Golfer since I live in Colombia, a tropical country with relatively stable weather throughout the year, but with plenty of “micro weathers” depending on the altitude you're in. So I've played in cooler mountain cities like Bogotá (55°F ish - 8,660 ft asl) but also in warmer mountain regions like the coffee triangle and of course on the hot and humid Caribbean coast as well, and I've enjoyed all rounds.
