Kim Hall is a looker. While technically not a pro, Laura Cross from SMU is very good looking.

From ESPN: There was also another incident Tuesday in which head LPGA rules official Doug Brecht ordered Wie's mother and father, Bo and B.J., and her physiotherapist off the practice range, citing the LPGA rule that only coaches and caddies are allowed on the range with players. Even though Wie is not a member of the LPGA, she signs a form at each event she plays saying she will abide by tour rules, according to a tour official. That discussion also went less than smoothly, sources said. Seems like the Wie's just don't get it.

That is why I chose the Big 10 - simply for the bruising smash mouth football that they play. I think the bowl game stat is misleading simply becasue the Big 10 has the most time off between their last game and the bowl game. Not the SEC's fault for that one - but the powers that be in the Big 10 need to make some changes. Persoanlly I think the SEC has the most talent but the best style of football is in the Big 10 and while the rivalries are good in the SEC, they are better in the Big 10.

So how many cameras does Michelle have on her? (Thanks to Chandler)

We have the thread for favorite team but what is the best NCAA football conference out there? Best can be most wins, most players drafted, toughest players etc. Any way you see fit. And apologies to the WAC, Mountain West, etc. I am only including 6 conferences.

Agreed - one of my best friends would always do this - hit it OB and then go drop up where it went OB and take the stroke there. I brought it up to him but he always said that he didn't want to hold up the pace of play. Ironically, he never got better. He remained a 24 handicap for years. He called me one time after a business trip to tell me that he broke 90. Of course after some questioning, he had a few mulligans and some gimmees that he indicated were not all that close. The worst part was that he knew the rules and he knew he was breaking them.

Might I suggest the lobotomy - the best way to become a good golfer.

I have played with the guy who cheats profusely too and I know he was playing in our daily tournament so I reported him. He was the unstable kind of guy too. I also played with an old guy who shot below his age. He was 72 and shot a 71 with a 40 yard hole out on the last hole for birdie. Most old guys have some charm and character and wit. This guy had non. Incredibly cocky and not all that humble.

You can tell him that it is against the rules if he is your partner, and it is. It is also just a breach of ettiquette. RULE 14-2 Assistance In making a stroke,a player must not: (a) Accept physical assistance or protection from the elements; or(b) Allow his caddie, his partner or his partner’s caddie to position himself on or close to an extension of the line of play or the line of putt behind the ball. Penalty for Breach of Rule 14-1 or -2: Match play — Loss of hole; Stroke play — Two strokes.

A buddy of mine and I got paired up with 2 older guys. We would all hit our tee shots and then these guys would disappear into the woods to look for golf balls. They did it on every hole. Could have been worse I guess.

3wood or driver off the tee for accuracy?
Ogg replied to Grazer's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
I use 3 wood most of the time. The course I play is only about 6150-6200 yards long so no need for much more. I think it helps tremendously with accuracy. -
When she finishes a round, does she put her age down on the scorecard next to her score or her name? Nope. Does anyone else out the LPGA or PGA Tours? Didn't think so. And I don't hate her. I just think her actions are bush-league. The thing is, she has played enough golf and been around enough older people to understand what good and bad behavior is. So have her parents. And Tiger did handle himself with grace and composure on his way up. He is the petulant pouter now and I don't agree with that either.
-
Never had one. I have done the old hit the flag stick a few times and I dented the edge of the hole on the fly another time (didn't even make birdie on that one) but nothing went in. Been playing for 31 years too.
-
It really is a shame as it sends the wrong message to people, and especially kids, that is OK to behave improperly. It is ridiculous to even defend her because she is 17. That should have no bearing. If she cannot handle the pressures or shoot the scores that she needs to shoot, then she should get out for a while and work at it until she can. Tiger was and is a phenom and he handled himself with grace and composure while coming up. It really goes to show how greed and golf don't mix.

We always used to play a $1 Nassau with .25 junk (birdies, greenies, sandies, chippies). I would have preferred more but I used to play with some older guys who did not like to do that. Money always went in for the beer regardless.

Thrdroc - I have never had a problem keeping up when walking. I have played with plenty of walkers who are faster than guys with carts becasue they know how to play at a steady pace.
-
I agree with Fourputt - have a rock solid short game. I think that playing your game and not someone else's is the way to make yourself do well. My partner is our golf league is always worried about giving putts or what the other guys are doing. Don't do that. Just play your game and you will be good.

I am pretty much a single every weekend I play but by choice. I have to get out there early as possible. I have met some wonderful people that way. I used to have a regular foursome and that was a lot of fun as we always had a match. But I think the more that you get out there and play, the easier it will be to make friends, be social, and just have a good time. Nothing succeeds like success.

David D - Give us the full account when you are done please!

Thank you lamebums! Agree with your sentiments. They are often referred to as the most corrupt NCAA program in the nation (not by me of course ).
-
Understood. And I agree with you 100%. The worst part of all of this is she may be today's hero and tomorrow's scapegoat all for the sake of a newspaper story.
-
Fletch - I am hoping your are right. I think our offense will be incredibly good this year and I think Ron English will have that D very well prepared this year, even with the losses from last season, I imagine we will be quite good. That plus a favorable schedule (8 home games) helps.

Only a short 3 months until college football season. Favorite teams? I am a diehard Michigan Wolverines supporter. Looking for more good things from them this year although everyone seems to be saying that Wisconsin is the team to beat in the Big 10 this year. We will see.

Sunscreen during the round - usually put it on twice- I hate the slimy feeling of it as well but it goes away quickly. Always wear a hat. Too hot for long sleeves and pants.

Yes, Tiger has admitted he had a problem with the graphite shafts. He used that steel shafted Titleist PT-15 3 wood for a long time because of it. This also proves the grip it and rip it mentality of todays game and highlights the groove issues on irons as well.
