  1. I lost 25 lbs in about 2 months, but didn't really see anything change except for flexibility. I was 230, now 205. Still working on losing weight for now. My ball striking hasn't improved at all. OT, like your avatar btw, I miss those RPI Big Red Freakouts
  2. I actually had the same problem not too long ago. What helps is if you have alignment sticks in your bag, put the alignment stick in your two front belt loops. Then I just make my swing with this stick showing my hip line. Here's a video that better explains it. It worked for me, and it kind of looks weird on the range. But whatever, i hope it helps
  3. I am seldom using the tee in general. The cool thing is that when I need to use a tee, at least I can adjust the height accordingly.
  4. Lose weight: 20lbs by start of season in May Break 100 by June Break 90 by the end of the year Try to listen to one person/teacher instead of listening to what everyone says on how I should fix my swing.
  5. I was just practicing at a local facility, and I got to wondering. Which do you prefer when you go to a range? I know grass is best, but if you didn't have grass (especially up here in NY during the winter), would you prefer to have a range that sold a bucket of balls? Or have a range that would have a system like this one? I like this system because I can't walk away from a bucket of balls. If I just wanted to hit 30 balls, then I can just go in, grab a card, and walk away when I'm done with my session. I can reuse the card at a later date. Of course, the one I go to is not this nice compared to this one in Japan, nor does it have a country club feel. Just a thought...

  8. My bad on the noob post. Wasn't paying attention.
  9. I'm back in school getting my Masters, and I make it a point to at least go out a few times, whether its to the range to work on something or on a course. Reason being is that I feel that golf is my escape. Even as frustrating the game can be, I am one that keeps working on something. I just have me, my club, and the ball. It keeps me sane under my schedule of always studying or working.
  10. +1 Ernie Els -1 Louis Oosthuizen -1 Lee Westwood Lee Westwood(5) Tiger Woods(13) Martin Kaymer(9) Phil Mickelson(7) Steve Stricker(10) Jim Furyk(13) Paul Casey(10) Luke Donald(12) Graeme McDowell(12) Rory McIlroy(12) Ian Poulter(10) Matt Kuchar(8) Ernie Els(11) Dustin Johnson(12) Francesco Molinari(0) Edoardo Molinari(0) Hunter Mahan(11) Retief Goosen(8) Adam Scott(10) Zach Johnson(11) Padraig Harrington(10) Robert Allenby(8) Louis Oosthuizen(1) Anthony Kim(0) Rickie Fowler(9)
  11. I was thinking along the lines that its easier for anybody to get to play with the pros via these basic entries. I do not see tryouts for pro teams, or rather coaches and scouts saying "nope, you're not good enough" in golf or poker. There isn't anybody really there to say that to you in golf or poker, except yourself.
  12. I think its also because golf has sort of this availability of being "easy" to grasp. You do not need to be a great athlete that can bench X amount of lbs to play this game. Everyone can just start and pick up a golf club, swing away at a range, and get golf lessons to improve. I kind of relate this to the poker boom. Any joe schmo can play in the World Series of Poker if they had the money. Same thing with golfers. Anybody can enter Q school if you have enough money or join a monday qualifier. It's that ease of getting onto a pro level event that intrigues people that "anybody can do it." When was the last time you had open tryouts for NFL teams? Last I checked, if they had tryouts, they were usually invites.
  13. 5 iron, dogleg left 480 yards to pin. I made it to the green barely because I had a good bounce, too bad that the pin was at the back edge. Ended up 3 putting.
  14. I like five guys, but I might be biased, because I had them first when I lived in DC. Chipotle or the dirty taco trucks here in the city, along with the halal trucks too. I love those food vendors at the end of every block. I don't care if its bad for you or if they're dirty, its still good to eat.
  15. About 2-3 rounds a week depending on the weather. Range sessions usually every other day, since they are open really late around here.
