  1. As of now, I'm gonna say Jack. Considering that back then, everything wasn't so helpful to the players (equipments and so on..), what Jack did was just beyond belief. 18 Majors is still the number to beat. Tiger is of course, one of a kind, but he's no Jack Nicklaus.

    Bubba Watson

Bubba is crazy long. When he putts well, his name is always going to be up there.
  3. Rory McIlroy. His fundamentals are very solid and I love his tempo when he strikes the golf ball. His swing is very powerful yet somewhat controlled. It's awesome to watch.
  4. Off-center hits will be a lot different with blades. Instead of being 5 yards short of the green, you can easily end up 10-15 yards short (which can possibly means getting into hazards). Also, from my experience, a couple of bad shots in a row with blades will make the club face that much smaller. I sometimes found it hard to take the club back because I was quite sure I was going to mis-hit it.
  5. I can only recommend those who haven't watched the CD, to just go out there and get it as soon as possible. Phil's lessons were amazing and the way he talked was so easy to understand, and fun. You'll definitely get your money's worth buying his CD.
  6. Clubhead speed can't increase 1-2 mph in a heartbeat. It just doesn't happen. I found that by swinging a weight club, or ride a bike to strengthen my core strength, I can hit the ball with firmer base and I felt like I had a bit more speed.

    Help!?

What you're going through is simply normal and it happens to every golfer out there. This is where your determination and patience will be put to the test. I've seen many people quit a short while after this stage. On the other hand, I also have seen many people hitting hundreds of balls at the range, just to work it out. Keep practicing and hope your game is getting better quickly.
  8. Yes, you definitely should. Assuming that you have a good club maker who knows what he's doing.
  9. I would strongly suggest you to do club-fitting, if you really into the game and plan to keep playing for quite a while. It takes a little time and money, but it's great for your overall game in the long-run. Consult with a pro or good club maker and let them recommend clubs that are right for you. That's the best way to start playing. Otherwise, you will have to find time and go through some trials and errors experimenting with clubs out there. Good luck.
  10. Very sorry to hear that. I've lost my wedge once and couldn't deal with it for weeks. Hope your new clubs will be better than the one that got stolen.
  11. Age : 27 Height : 5'7 (I'm Asian) Where are you from : Bangkok, Thailand How Long have you been Playing : 8-9 years Best Score : 73 Favorite club in the bag : Driver Golf Books / DVD's that have helped you : Tiger Woods' "How I play golf", and Phil Mickelson short games CDs. Where do you play : My group switch courses once every few weeks. We usually play in Bangkok or courses a little bit outskirt. Best courses you've played so far : Blue Canyon (Phuket, Thailand) Things you enjoy most about golf : Time spent in the golf course is very valuable for me, since I mostly spend it with my father & his friends, so I'm learning a lot. Goals for 2K10 : To improve on chips & little shots around the greens.
  12. Blades can benefit your game if you can hit solid shots on a regular basis. I learned that the hard way. I've been playing for about 8 years and the most significant mistake I made was switching to blade irons during the first few years of play. I found them difficult to hit, not to mention what they did to my confidence. Blades added 5+ shots to my scorecard easily. However, well-struck shots with blades felt very soft and nice, though. I'd rather have some forgiveness in my irons, because I'd never know when my ball striking will be bad. I can be honest and tell you right now that many pros are staying away from blades or switching to something more forgiving. Try and see for yourself and good luck.
