  1. How many times did we hear the announcers say things like "You can't judge the golf shot based on Tiger's face, that's the knee pain" I remember him wincing on numerous good shots.
  2. I did notice he did the same wiggle and unorthodox pre shot routine every time (except putter)
  3. Define "old". Why would they do that? It doesn't prove anything at all and most players would see it for what that would be - a circus side show and decline.
  4. Counter-clockwise swirl with a pinch. Actually I just do a simple, reserved arm pump. Very mellow.

    Ian Poulter - Ass

Nope - but I did miss what that has to do with Ian's behavior. Star a new thread if you like but Ian has acted like a petulant child - that's the discussion here.
  6. I'll say it again - from a business perspective the worst thing to do is for Tiger to come out and say "I am shutting it down for X weeks or for the year" The PGA and the individual tournament organizers stand to lose should he do that. The best thing for all concerned is that he stay hush and let people speculate on if he will be at x tourney or y - I am sure the sponsors and organizers know but they need the public to hope and continue to buy tickets, merchandise and the like based on the assumption he might attend any number of tournaments. I am sure Tiger is well aware of this - he is a bright guy.
  7. Been done forever in the brewing industry as well. Larger breweries rent out their over capacity to other places. Thus you end up with Sam Adams not being made in Boston at all but Philly (IIRC - either there or Detroit in actuallity in the beginning) At one time almost every cast Ti golf club head was made by Ruger firearms at their Pine Tree Casting facility. Ruger having advanced casting technology to an amazing degree. It may still be that way. Would you say all those heads are really Ruger golf clubs? Nope - they have the tech and simply build what the customer specs. Business pure and simple. The marketing guys have emotion tied into it but the accountants tell the CEO - if we make 2 million balls for company X we stand to gain 4 million in revenue (to pull numbers out of my arse) and who wouldn't go for that?
  8. Would you buy a driver from this man?
  9. We just got done with what has to be one of the best majors in a very long time. I have to wonder though - has your opinion changed on anything in the game - after seeing what this tournament was? 1. USGA - is the Open the best tournament in golf? The Masters is the sentimental favorite but has the Open become the one to watch now for drama and great shot making? 2. Tiger Woods - is he better than you thought or now is he more human that Rocco pushed him so hard? 3. Pelz - if he was the one behind talking Phil into 5 wedges and Phil has the showing he does - does Pelz's stock take a hit? Phil always had the short game rep and all Pelz has managed to do with it is add clubs. An impulsive nature and decent credit card can do that. 4. Does Harmon take some blame for not getting Phil comfortable (accurate) enough with his driver that it NEVER should be a question as to if he should at the least carry it? (biggest question for me) 5. Journeymen golfers, are we going to pay a little more attention to the rest of the fields now? Maybe both as spectators and (hopefully) the channels covering the tournaments. So the question is - what has the Open changed your mind on or made you think more about?
  10. And looking at Tiger's wife - golfers pull better chicks. I don't know if Tiger could do my job - cold turkey but if you gave him say 3 days to learn I am sure he would be reasonable or at least as good as I was on my 3rd day. That was current job - my job in the Navy - it would probably take him a year + just like me but I don't think he has the temperment for it.
  11. Sporting Clays Skiing
  12. 1. Not a doctor - I haven't a clue. Joints are funny things, what is bad for me might be fine for someone else. 2. When he thinks he can win again. Rocco probably scared him a little and I don't think he will be back until he is sure he can put a guy like Rocco away in a more traditional 4 hole playoff (Rocco would have won if it was that way I believe) 3. Secretive sure but you can bet the PGA wants it that way as well. As long as people think Tiger might be at a tournament they will tune in or buy tickets on speculation. Tiger comes out today and says he is shutting it down for the year? Ratings go in the crapper and it becomes "Well yeah Phil won the British but Tiger wasn't there so it really isn't all that impressive". That kind of talk isn't good for golf. Someone mentioned in the "Tiger and hockey" thread that the PGA averages a 1.5 share when Tiger isn't in the field, hockey was at 1.8 across the board so without him golf takes a back seat to hockey. Not good for the game, the PGA knows it and the longer Tiger takes to make the decision or announce the decision to shut it down the better for them and the industry.
  13. That's not why he is getting the attention. He is getting it because he was the 154th rated guy who had to qualify into the Open and gave Tiger more of a run than the home course favorite, Phil. More of a run than I can remember from anyone - he hung with a guy ranked 153 spots ahead of him, in a Major (The Open no less) and did it with grace, affable charm and above all he was having FUN. That's why he is getting the attention.
  14. Interesting. What if Phil started to do it? (for the record, I'll keep my driver. Thank you very much for asking though) I can see where it might help a guy but a tour guy prob isn't ever going to need it.

    Ian Poulter - Ass

Ian is rather young. Hard to believe his behavior is a new revelation or a habit recently cultivated.

    Ian Poulter - Ass

If a guy is an a$$ at 65 he probably was an a$$ at 25. I don't think Ian "learned" to be an idiot - I think he was born with it.
  17. I haven't a clue as to if he will but no matter what he will always be "That guy who pushed Tiger hard to 19 holes." No one can take that from him and the feeling I got from Rocco was that he doesn't really care if he never gets that hot again. He had a blast and got to go one on one with Tiger - just the 2 of them. Not many can state they went onto a course with the world's #1 (maybe of all time) and pushed him harder than anyone else has. Particularly as his name isn't Ernie, Vijay, or Phil.
  18. I don't smoke them anymore - I have a son now so I have given them up but back in the day, nothing better than a good Thomas Hines Vintage I to even out the day.
  19. Really???? Simply make the change and see if it helps. It doesn't have to be this hard. Use the tool, switch the weights and if it doesn't help - go back. That's why they let you move them on your own, it isn't a tattoo, it will go back the way it was if you want. It won't suddenly turn you into a super accurate 320 yard bomber but it might help "some". Figure out the swing but until then - use the technology you bought and try moving the weights.
  20. Just think what would have happened if he got rid of the driver and went with 3W and 5 wedges? Ustoppable I tells ya.................
  21. A guy creates his own luck. Funny - the more I practice and work at something, the luckier I got.
  22. Observations from this bad golfer: Tiger won a Major in overtime when he wasn't supposed to even make the cut (to listen to some). I am sure he made some new golf fans today and that is always good. The coverage: - I didn't like switching back and forth from ESPN/NBC but it is what it is. The commentators don't bother me all that much - I don't really listen to them a whole bunch as I am pretty intent into actually watching swings, lies, shots etc. Tiger - yep the knee hurts after impact so I think he will be okay damage wise. I hope so anyway. I was a casual Tiger fan. I followed him but wasn't one of these people who obsessed over every detail. Got to say he impressed the heck out of me this weekend. Rocco - what can you say? The 154th ranked man took the number 1 to 19 holes of playoff golf. The man played the game as it is supposed to be - FUN. The guy has a GREAT attitude and he got to do something just about every other guy on tour wants to do. Go a round just you and him and see who can do what. See how your game stacks up against who may be the best the world has ever seen at your sport. Rocco has NOTHING to feel ashamed about. He played an excellent 91 holes of golf on the large stage with the world #1 over a decade his junior. I can really see myself golfing a round with the guy and sharing a beer and burger after. Can't say that about many other guys on tour. Needless to say he made me a fan of his this weekend. Got to believe that Callaway never thought it would be him flying their flag in a battle with Tiger this weekend.
  23. This will at the least cover the mark so you aren't distracted by it.
