  1. Given more swing time with the Halo, I think you'll get used to it off the tee. I must say that swallowing my pride and hitting the hybrid off the tee on shortish par 4's and tight driving holes has done wonders for my scoring...sometimes I even hit my 1i as long or longer than my buddies drive so it kind of is nice kick in their gut when it happens. I hope you get more golf in...I'm getting out even more this season to get my index into single digits (and staying there) and keeping myself in play and getting par off misses around the green is the only way that will happen.
  2. When I visited my sister in Manhattan about 4 yrs ago, I got a chance to play Van Cortlandt. From what I remember, it was a decent track. The funny part of the round was my brother-in-law and I carrying our golf bags on the subway to the Bronx!
  3. Boom...I think your shaft is torqued over Bri. No worries...I am partial to her, too. My ex looks like her sans golf ability, and has her hot tempered streak. I'd watch that show if it came on...
  4. CG...I have the Halo and really rely on them to keep me in play...what drawbacks do you have about them? It did take me awhile to get used to look, but I really like the impact sound and feel off the club face. As far as the others you mentioned, I have only heard good things about the Baffler and TM rescue.
  5. It kills me to hear you guys talking about just playing golf...I don't know what I would do if I had to wait 4-5 months to play golf.
  6. I agree...time to move on.
  7. Just a heads up...here is the TV coverage schedule on the official Masters site. http://www.masters.org/en_US/about/tvsched.html
  8. What a hypocritical Ahole... Lit up a Carlos Torano, La Gloria Cubano, and 2 Partagas Maximo cigars this weekend...a great weekend to enjoy a smoke and swing a club in Florida. Hope everyone had a safe and golf filled weekend!
  9. Walked today for the 1st time in about a year...Actually a good round in all categories. My putting held up and my short game was consistent (no chili dips), which help me shoot 78 again.
  10. 78...good ballstriking and golf management day. I only hit 2 drivers, the rest of the tee shots were hybrids (3i or 1i Halos) so fairways hit was at 80%. Putting was substandard on front 9...1 three putt and 2 short misses (5ft or less) for par.
  11. It's not a "euro trash" thing...it is an immature, spoiled (not that other golf pros aren't), got too much cash than common sense thing. Not all on this forum paint with such a broad brush stroke...

    Got HDTV?

Great explanation...I was wondering the same thing. I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me.
  13. Definately get fitted if you haven't already...lie angle, shaft flex, shaft material, and a several other factors can help you rediscover your game. I haven't had experience with Cobra's, but word of mouth is good. I have had experience with Cleveland Launcher, Taylormade R7 CGB's, Wilson Ci6's. All three were great sets...just get fitted, find a set that feels and sounds good to you. Enjoy and glad to have you back!
  14. I've got my dream bag...now looking for dream swing.
  15. Unfortunately, I've been playing a couple of courses that are really tight and tree-lined, so my margin of error is a lot lower on these courses. My level of confidence in my driver is good, but not at 80%. That is why I've been hitting my 1i and 3i Cleveland Halo's with a much greater degree of success in hitting the fairway, making par a possibility. Whereas, the woods makes a scramble for a bogey.
  16. Wish I had the game to be sponsored by TM, as it is I'm sponsoring them.
  17. Easy now...I actually agree with you. You can't recognize a bit of sarcasm?
  18. I hear pissing on green makes the ball roll better...
  19. No problem with chew (done that w/ my handy chew cup) or spitting (done that too) on the course. Having a chew spit or a spit/hocker near the cup is different story...
  20. I've done chew on the course, but I used a cup. I've spit on the course, but not on the green...I just would have a problem with chew or a hocker on the green...esp. near the cup.
  21. No hater here...I just don't get your reasons (1. We wannabes can't play golf at his level / 2. We wannabes don't have his income. ) for people not commenting on it. We comment on it and move on. I play more golf at a muni then at a country club and it is accessible to a lot more "wannabes" than so called privileged people. I count my blessings every day...Your insinutation that I'm an A..hole is fine...I can be at times. Just don't go onto a golf forum and not expect people to comment.
  22. I could wax poetic about golf, but it comes down for me on several things: 1. Golf provides a haven from the day to day grind. 2. Golf gives a setting for bonding time with buddies. 3. Golf challenges my mind and body. 4. My knees can't take any other sport.
  23. As far as clubs go, I go with what I feel comfortable with and have had success in the past. As far as clothes and shoes, I try to match with regard to colors, rather than brand.
  24. Wait a minute...what does his level of golf and income have to do with "accidentally" or "intentionally" spitting in or near the golf cup. You don't have to be a pro or a billionaire to know that "if" he did that intentionally that it was a crass move. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, but don't make it sound that if he is a pro and/or rich that a guy of the street can't comment on something that has nothing to do with his golf ability or fat wallet. It's just a matter of common sense and a lot of people who are a 36 handicap and sweep floors could see that whatever the motivation that it was inappropriate. And...I don't give a flying f>>>, it doesn't affect my life but it is a forum full of opinions...
  25. I play with the one and I love it, especially when I'm swinging right. It is long and I love the weighting system. I changed out the 1gm weights and replaced each with a 14gm weight, giving me a much heavier club head. I would say I'm about 15yds longer.
