  1. Yes, I played Industry Hills (The IKE) really nice track! Green were a little bumpy, but I played late in the day. I would stay away from Rancho Park. I went there to hit a bucket of balls and the place was insane. Really busy and the course looked like a dog track. They even rent rubber tees instead of letting you use them...WOW.
  2. Yeah, I had been asking him for a while...:-D
  3. I didn't take any other pics...:-( Too busy taking the whole experience in! A friend of mine got me on. Best greens I think I've ever played on!
  4. Specifically, near Culver City, CA? I know traffic is tough so im looking to stay close to Culver City... Thanks!
  5. What an unbelieveable course! There's a reason why all the of the Pros are members at Lake Nona! Check out the Plaque - Freddy Couple made a 2 on a TOUGH Par 5.
  6. Yes, there is a lighted Par3 course inside Orange Lakes resort.
  7. I agree with the other posts. I've played pearl west and international club and both were below par....
  8. I'm going to be playing Lake Nona and was wondering if anyone else has played it and what you thought of it? Thanks!! I did a search and couldn't find anything....
  9. I would go to Dafuski Island and play Melrose and Bloody Point...awesome courses!
  10. Hi I'm looking to play 36 in one day at some place in the Tampa area. Hopefully somewhere that has some type of special deal for both rounds. Also, can you get on copperhead at Innisbrook or is it private? Thanks
  11. Just a quick question is Pine Barrens worth it? Sorry to hijack...
  12. As the others have said, you can do etter than the courses you listed. Especially Arcadian Shores.... We're going down to Myrtle in March and below is our lineup. Caledonia True Blue Kings North Willbrook Founders Club World Tour Debordieau C.C. Any one play Kings North? If so, is it a nice track.
  13. I'm looking for some recommendations on a nice course to play in the San Jose area? I've played Half moon Bay and liked them both, but I'm looking for something. Close in or around San Jose....Thank
  14. By far the best course I have ever played! I also played Spyglass and the Old Course St. Andrews, but Pebble beats both of them in in my opinion. I think the first five holes at Spyglass were the best stretch of 5 holes I have ever played, but then it turns inland. I played the tips at Pebble and shot 81, but remember, the challenge on TV was from the same tees as the US Open...big difference. Holes, 8, 9, 10 are as tough as they get!
  15. Im going next week and was wondering which course is a must play?
  16. Weather was perfect! 75 degrees and blue skies!
  17. I was fortunate enough to play Spy Glass Hill @ Pebble. I also played Half Moon Bay. I thought Spy Glass was awesome, especially the first 5 holes. I would consider them the best stretch of 5 holes I've ever played. I played Spanish Bay & Pebble last yea,r and altough I loved Spy Glass, Pebble still blows it away in my opinion. I wasn't that excited about dropping $350.00 on a round, so I called the pro shop and asked them if they had a twilight rate, and much to my delight the pro said that they were punching the greens, but if I could get to the course by noon (before they starting punching the greens) he would give me the the "punched greens" rate of $180! I made it to Spy Glass from San Fran in 2 hours... The staff at Spy Glass were amazing! One of the asst pros even came out of the shop to meet me as I drove up and got my clubs out of the trunk. I would rate my GOLF COURSE bucket list as follows: Pebble Beach St. Andrews (Old Course) Spy Glass Spanish Bay Half Moon Bay -Ocean Course Half Moon Bay -Old Course
  18. Your swing on the left to me looks better than your swing on the right. I know you've already paid for your lessons, so Im not trying to discourage you from going back to Edwin Watts, but here's what I would do... 1) Patience is the best thing you could do for your game right now. Developing a repeatable swing takes time, hitting a lot of balls and TIME 2) I googled the best teaching pros in Texas and here is the list... http://texasgolf.blogspot.com/2007/0...hing-pros.html Obviously the first one is out unless you have a lot of $$$$ to blow. When I decided to take the game seriously, I found the best teaching pro in my area, with the best reviews and went to him.
  19. The first thing I notice when it's getting close to having to aerate the greens at my home course is how hard they get and that they dont hold very well. I dont think you would notice a different other than the obvious between downhill and uphill... Fast and hard greens are tough because you have to play a very different game, you can no longer attack the pins. Placement becomes very important..
  20. This young kid is too much! I had a "high" paying job when I was 18, but I was smoking a lot of weed and pumping gas... I play every week with a couple guys that are 18+ handicaps and they are NO slower than my friends who are 5 handicaps. At our place we pick up after we've reached our MAX stroke allowed for the hole which is no more than a 7 in most cases. We call it (BIPSIC) BALL IN POCKET, SIT IN CART
  21. I had it, but sold it on ebay. The touch screen was a pain in the ass.
  22. When Im hooking my driver, it's one of two things. My stance is way too closed and Im trying to swing too hard. Also, you will get through it! a SLICE IS A LOT HARDER TO FIX THAN A HOOK!
  23. I wasnt trying to insult the guy. I was just making a point as to why a 26 handicap feels a driver is so important to a 30+ handicap. I also saw and interview where Jack Nicklaus once say a higher handicap (Anyone 20+) would benefit more from hitting a 3wood off the tee instead of driver... The high-handicap golfer "The high-handicap golfer is either a beginner or has not had the time to hone his game to reach the mid-handicap level. The high-handicapper usually shoots close to or over 100. Woods You may not even want to have a driver in your bag. Instead, go with the 3-wood as your off-the-tee wood and add the easier-to-hit 7- and 9-woods. Wedges Up to 3 wedges-- pitching wedge, sand wedge, and either a lob wedge or approach wedge--should be carried "
  24. I tend to remind myself to REALLY accelerate through the ball with a little bit more wrist hinge...
