so I was fitted for this shaft and I'm going to reshaft my R7 425 with this!

How have been this shaft for you guys out there who has it on your driver??

I just want to hear your personal opinion about it!

Also I want to know whats the tip size of my 425?

I'm buying the shaft over internet, and a good friend of mine who reshaft clubs it is going to reshaft my driver for free

Also what website will you recommend me to buy this shaft?

I have seen then on the golfsmith website, but they don't have it on stock

I have the shaft in my Titleist... to be honest its a bit of a tough shaft to handle. The shaft is heavy coming in at 76grams and has a low torque rating of 2.2 degrees. I feel that in order to get the most out of the shaft I have to put it all into the shaft

by the way, I was born in Caracas... great to see another venezuelan on the sandtrap

I have the 65 V2 in stiff. I love this shaft. I get a ton of feedback and control. For me it has a nice mid trajectory and when my swing is on I can work the ball high or low. I get better roll out with this shaft than any I have ever hit. With mine, this is due to a nice first bounce of about 20 yards + more roll. I do hit a little low even with a 12* driver. But for the money I don't think the V2 can be beat. I'm not sure how this translates to the 75 gram shaft or your swing dynamics.

Good luck!

the 75 gram version is a totally different spec shaft... the 2.2 torque changes a lot in terms of how the shaft reacts to the way you load a shaft

I have the 65g and really like it. I have an 8.5 hibore and it is pretty easy to work it with it. I tried several stiff shafts before deciding on the V2. Hard to go wrong with this shaft imo.

When I first got back into the game about 2 years ago I struggled to find a shaft that fit my game (even after being fitted). When I was fitted for my 5 wood I tested out the V2 stiff in the 75 gram version. It was what I was looking for, I felt it complimented my swing speed great, and was slightly "boardy"...which I like, most of the shafts I had used prior felt so whippy but the V2 felt stable while at the same time I did not feel like the shaft was fighting me. I have since switched over my 3 wood, and Driver (use 65 gram in the driver) to the V2 and I plan to switch out the hybrid shaft for the V2 sometime next month. For me it produces a relatively high shot (doesn't balloon) that even out quickly into a mid penetrating flight. I have tried other more expensive shafts, Aldila VS proto "by you" and Graffaloy Epic that preformed similar but nothing that has wowed me enough to make the switch. Just t be clear I'm not advocating that everyone will get great results, get fitted for what is right for you, just that it worked out great for me. Good luck, I have never tried the V2 shaft in a Taylormade head but have always wanted to.

I used to play hte V2..

Its a very solid shaft, honestly, and this isnt all that debatable, its the best shaft for under 100 bucks.

i liked it because it felt very stiff, but when i put a good wack on it, it really felt great when it was loaded correctly, however, on days when my swing isnt quite there, i didn tlike it, i didnt find it to be the most forigivng of shafts, if there is such a thing.

I play one in my three wood, a 90 gram because it really gives me a lot of control, so i had a 67 gramd in the driver for bombs, and a 90 gram in the 3 for control, great combo.

One thing to be warned of, it does have some pretty low torque, so if your fight the right, you may have some issues..

Unfortunatly, the v2 has left my bag, in favor of the graffaloy Epic.. just a pure beast of a shaft.

The TP version is a .335 the standard version is a .350. The prices I've seen on the standard V2 (not the HMOI, HL or LD versions) is between 65-75 dollars, I know for a fact golfsmith has them, and sometimes shaft depot has some have been professionally pulled for cheaper.

They are hit and miss as far as service goes, they carry mostly high end graphite shafts, though they have great deals often on steel shafts and some graphite shafts (like the epic for 70ish) they don't normally carry UST products but it's worth a shot to look in their "pulls" section or shoot them an email;

http://www.golfshaftsdepot.com/ One warning, they only offer ground shipping, so if your in a hurry to get it you may want to consider that. Honestly for the price of the V2 you may just want to get a new one from golfsmith they are only 69.....I know shaftsource.com also carries UST products (I think the shaft was 54 or 59 there) but I have never used this company so I can't comment.

Thanks dude!

No worries. Those are some of the "big boys" as far as companies go, they are reputable. I've used Edwin Watts, had a normal/good experience....have never used golf galaxy but I haven't heard anything negative about them either. Good luck and let us know how the shaft plays. Have you considered what grip you are going to go with?

Always go with what performs best for you, but if you do try out the multi-compound and you like it the yellow/black combo looks sick with a V2 shaft, that what I have on the hibore XL (alternate to the one listed in my sig....still my go to Driver to be honest, may put it back in...and mostly because of the shaft, heads don't preform that much differently).

hahaha that look great! I have to try those grips I need to find someone who play with them ¬¬!

I have check golfsmith, edwin watts and golf galaxy, and they only have the v2 proforse 335" tip size and not the 350"

So I found this website www.golfworks.com who do carry the 350" version

how are they? are they trustable?

Also I see that they dont let you chose what lenght you want on your shaft. All websites say 46". My actual driver is 45" long, and I want the same lenght, so I just cut the shaft to 45" or what do I do? I think I will have to ask my friend who reshaft clubs ¬¬

I honestly have never heard of that site so sorry I am not much help there. As far as the shaft UST produces them standard at 46", most people "butt trim" them to the desired length (usually) 44" o4 45". Trimming the shaft from the tip (called tipping a shaft) will cause it to play stiffer, not something I would advise the average golfer of doing, especially to a shaft like the V2 which plays pretty stiff anyways. Of course if you have the talent, swing speed and want the extra stiffness for trajectory or control, thats another story.

    • this topic brought to mind one my favorite golf-spectator memories. Back when, living in Santa Barbara CA, parked in my yellow cab just behind the 10th tee  (c. 380 yard par 4) at SB Muni golf course while eating lunch. A twosome comes by, and first up is this fat little mexican guy who takes a kinda squirelly practice swing, then addresses the ball and bashes a long, high, perfectly straight drive up to w/in about 5 yards of the green. Other guy is dressed to the 9's, pulls out what looks like a $300 driver....and hits a maybe 150-yard pop fly. Slams clubhead to the ground and yells, "it's fat! It's fat! Everything is fat today!!"  And that's how I learned what a "fat" shot is.

Unless you know something that I don't, neither of us are in any position to judge whether Woods or Nicklaus lived their overall life better, not that such a thing is even objectively measurable, nor is it relevant to the discussion.
