All last season i was swinging a square-headed club, and hitting it on average pretty straight and hitting many fairways. Well on a recent golf trip, I had to rent clubs and they gave me a regular shaped driver. I tee'd off and I sliced it really bad, and it kept getting worse! Its starting to worrie me because it seems my swing is working for a square driver but not a regualr one, im still trying to figure out whats wrong. Any body ever had similar problems or can give me a little advice. It seems my square driver is hiding a swing flaw.....

Well, it is not shape of the head that counts but the face, or the offset or the kick point. Your normal driver could be built with draw face. If the kick point on your normal driver is different (I forget whether high or low promotes more of a slice) that could be the cause. So, yeah, it could be partially the way the rented driver was built.

One thing I would check is your alignment. Make sure you are square to your target - and by that I mean everything is square to your target - feet - hips - shoulders - and clubface. Your square driver may be easier to align than the normal faced driver.

Also - try this if you start slicing more than usual. As you come through your downswing - roll your wrists over through the hitting zone. This will help square-up your clubface at impact and you should start hitting the ball straight. It takes awhile to get the timing down - but try that - roll your wrists through the impact zone. Hope this helps!
