Planning a trip to Sedona, AZ in June and am trying to play a couple of times during the week. I saw a couple of really nice courses for around $100/each and wondered if anyone has played them. Any thoughts on really nice public courses in the area? Thanks.

My wife and I were in Sedona a couple of years ago, stayed in the Sedona Hilton, and played 2 rounds at the Sedona Golf Resort, next to the Hilton. It was a good course, with some spectacular views, bring your camera for the par 3 10th hole.

Essentially, you have two choices for public golf in Sedona

Sedona Golf Resort (Gary Panks 1988)
A modern style that makes use of the natural terrain and native vegetation.

Oakcreek Country Club (RT Jones Sr. & Jr. 1968)
More traditional style, flatter, tree-lined.

Both are a few miles south of Sedona proper in the Village of Oak Creek. Both offer scenic views of the red rocks. Neither are cheap in high season.

There are also a couple of short courses:
Canyon Mesa - 9 hole executive
Radisson Poco Diablo resort has a 9 hole pitch and putt.

Enjoy!
