Need new irons....what to go for?

I have played now for 2 years, and feel the time now is for some new irons.

Now I use Carlton golf irons, made to be at the local club.

They are with carbon shaft and are good, but still like something new.....

WHat to go for? Makers? Steel or carbon shaft?

Are there some tip, guide lines , or just go for what one like?

I am not a pro player, just playing for fun and relaxing.

Go to a demo day or a shop that has demo's and hit em all. Best advice you're gonna get from this..
