  1. I was recently fit by a certified Ping club fitter. With the Mizuno shaft optimizer (I believe that is the funky clipped on thing) my swing speed with a 6 iron averaged 91mph. After many swings I was fit into a new set of G25 irons with the CFS X-stiff shafts.
  2. Yes, they are nice wedges. However, MacGregor is now owned by Golfsmith, so forget about the return to elite status.
  3. If you look at my signature.. obviously I've been very happy with the Snake Eyes line of clubs, especially their irons and wedges. I've had a set of Nike and Adams irons mixed in there, but always seem to go back to the Snake Eyes.
  4. Love spinning! Great cardio workout and can be altered to do more of a lower body "strength and power" activity. I found it hard to keep going to classes at a gym with a 6-year-old that's into baseball. basketball and cub scouts. So I shelled out $1300 for a Keiser M3 cycle to use in my home and couldn't be happier. I usually spin 4x/week and do some yoga 2 days as well. $1300 seems like a lot, but if you think about it... paying $30-$40/month for gym membership for three years about covers the cost of the bike. I purchased some DVD's from spinning.com for several types of workouts from intervals, power, and circuit. One of the best investments I've made.
  5. I'd resell it. Once you figure the cost of a new shaft, grip and labor, in addition to the price you paid for the club, you would be better off just buying a new one.
  6. How many of you here when purchasing new clubs, whether its a driver, new irons, or even a putter, take your current club(s) with you to compare against? Are you really hitting this new driver 10, 20 or even 30 yards farther than your current gamer? Is that new Scotty putter really draining more putts on the indoor putting green than what you have? Just curious to the "Placebo Effect" we might feel from the shiny, new club in our hands, especially, if there is not one to compare to. Any thoughts?
  7. Try the "lean" program. More cardio, kempo and core and NO plyometrics at all!
  8. In these areas where GG is closing but there is a Dicks in the area, I suppose you're out of luck if you're looking for clubs from Titleist, Mizuno and Ping. I know you can't find these brands of clubs in my area Dicks stores. However, I've noticed Ping putters and close out clubs (Rapture) have now found there way to Dicks. The "club repair service" at Dicks isnt the best either from my experience.
  9. i'm glad two things happened. 1.) DJ missed the par putt ....... seeing a player informed that he didn't win would be awful. 2.) I'm glad Kaymer got up and down for par on 18 in regulation. If not, Bubba would essentially have a perceived asterisk next to his major win, regardless of the rules and circumstances.
  10. My point is ..... there's no easy solution! They offered DJ a chance to go out to the CBS trailer to analyze it for himself. I'm just saying, if you're going to call a penalty on someone right there on the course on the 72nd hole of a major championship, you better be able to allow the player to see it for himself (or herself). I think the only two people that are glad this situation happened are Cory Pavin and Jim Gray!
  11. I don't think a player can change his strategy because he MAY have committed a rules infraction. What if it's later determined that no infraction occurred and the player makes a bigger number trying to hole out because he is under the assumption that he is playing under "false" circumstances. I believe there was a situation at the FBR with Kenny Perry last year and it was later determined that he didn't commit an infraction. To call the penalty right away would require temporalily halting play and going 'under the hood' NFL style, which might wear on the patience of a player(s) playing under the pressure of a major championship.
  12. It's funny that every product they sell gets a 5 star rating. Ping G15 irons sell for $329 (obviously fake), but the G10 irons sell for $339. The original Nike One Black balls (probably 4-5 years old) sell for $46.99 and of course gets a five star rating......laughable!
  13. Hey now! Easy on the visors, I'm a couple of years from 40 and still proud of my full head of hair.
  14. I typically play majority of my rounds very early in the a.m. I'm sure the dew soaked course would be a problem!
