Did Taylor Made make a driving iron (1-iron) that had a flame/fireball on the sole instead of a number to identify the club?

I've looked through TMs Vintage club listings. The problem is that they don't have pictures of the 1-irons for most of the sets, just a general picture to give you an idea of the overall look. Like I said, the only thing I remember being unique about this club is the flame/fireball in place of the identifying number. Without having a 1-iron picture from all of the sets, I've not been able to figure out whether this club existed or not.

According to TM's website, the only sets it could be from are 01 Forged 300, 95-98 Burner Tour, 91-94 ICW 11 or 5, 91-94 Burner Midsize, or 87-90 TPI. I know it wasn't older than an 87. I've seen the 1-iron from the Burner Tour and the 87-90 TPI, so I know those are not it. Still hunting for a picture of the rest.

It could have also been a stand-alone driving iron, but it doesn't show up anywhere on the iron list, but their wedge sets do, so I'd imagine it would.

Am I crazy or does this club actually exist?

Pic? Easier to identify that way.

I've been looking for one for ages, but have not been able to find one. I'm starting to believe this club didn't exist.

I am not sure if these are them, but I believe Taylor Made made a set called FireSoles. Maybe that came with a 1 iron that had the flame on the bottom. not sure just a guess.

The Firesole, Firesole Tour, and Supersteel (they all came out at the same time, 1999) weren't available in 1-iron.

Anyone else have any idea what I'm talking about? I've been looking for this club for a couple years and I'm starting to think it doesn't exist.

    • I think you're saying it's preposterous to think that the areas on this club are anything like what's shown here: 30mm toward the toe or heel loses only 5% distance? Highly, highly doubtful. So a guy who hits the ball there and normally hits the ball about 250… will hit it instead about 238. By missing the sweet spot by about 1.2 inches? Highly, highly doubtful. Heck, the high heel barely gets into the red, and orange is only "up to" 10%! @M2R, I've never heard of "Ask Golf Nut" but I'm dubious of his claims in the video and really, really dubious of what's on his site: "Why AskGolfNut Is the Most Trusted Data-Driven Golf Resource". Hmmmmmm.
    • Day 151 1-11 flow work today. I've been doing all pause work, so Inwanted to get some rhythm going. Recorded.
    • a) No b) This MLR says: I doubt the MLR is going to affect their weekly league games, in other words.
    • So the question was posed today by some of my friends.  Is a pitch mark the same as a divot?  I thought NO, but they argued if your ball lands in another player's divot (made by club during a swing) this was the same as a pitch mark, i.e. the ball mark made when the ball lands
    • Original definition use to or still is how far offline you hit it. It might be better to think of it as consistency in retaining favorable launch conditions to optimize distance.   That heat map showed a gigantic 0-3% loss in ball speed. That is absurd. The true 100% sweet spot is tiny for all clubs. Good luck telling the difference if the sweet spot is under 3% in a sizable area. Especially considering variation in launch angle, spin, and outdoor weather.
