I don't know if something is actually "better." I do believe that a shaft equipped to your type of game and swing speed gives you better results. If you're unhappy about low trajectory, you might want to switch to a high launch shaft. If you want a heavier shaft, you're not going to use a lite shaft, regardless of flex. I highly recommend everyone get fitted for clubs, regardless of handicap. Respectfully, I disagree with those that claim "don't get fitted until you get better." I just don't understand how you can accomplish that if you don't know what's best for you. The only way to realize that is by getting fitted. Duffer, from my experience, my suggestion is to go to a fitter and hit all the different stiff shafts. Try to make sure that there are no labels on them. You don't want a brand to influence you. You want to make sure that you are happy with the shaft.
