I've been Playing Golf for: 15 years
My current handicap index or average score is: 4
My typical ball flight is: Straight-ish
The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: Pull Draw

I've been on here for a while but do not post much, but I figured it was time to post a swing. Thanks!

I have plateaued in my game the last few years (stuck around a 4). Driving is consistent and solid round to round and short game is good enough. Its my approach game that is disproportionately poor and hilarious inconsistent shot to shot.

I generally struggle with a shallow-ish takeaway and backswing, then get steep. Hence the pull draw miss plus occasional fat-ish shots. I have tried for years now to steepen my backswing and improve my takeaway but that sent my entire game into shambles. I also went all last season with a significantly weaker grip, but same results. Driver is not an issue, the pull draws are basically PW-3. As far as I know, the lie angle on my irons is fine since my "good" swings are still a straight shot.

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Below are an 8 iron swing in slow mo and full speed.

Full speed.

Would love to see a face-on video.

With just this one swing, I'd look at that right elbow getting ever-so-slightly stuck behind the right hip, and the shaft coming in slightly steep. Your path appears to be pretty close to neutral, so when you pull it from a slightly closed face, it's going to tend to draw even further left.

Next time I'm at the range I'll get a face on. As for the right elbow, I think a lot of my issues are result of that like you said. Folds too much, shallowing the backswing and then the steepness coming down. Any thoughts on how to get/keep it in more in front of my right hip?
