No really--I havent seen any PGA Tour players even use this club. I havent seen anyone even talk about this club. I mean I havent even seen anyone buy this club from dicks sporting goods. What happened to this club. Nobody seems to want it. Why is this?

Are we talking about the driver or the irons.

I think it works in both cases.

I think it has to do with the price on both Items. For the money I could find better clubs to suit my style of play.

CGB Irons go for like $1100 I think. I could find a "Game Improvment" club for a better price. People that are looking for these types of clubs aren't usually the ones that are going to shell out this type of money.

CGB Driver is $499. Thats getting around TP Driver money. No thank you.

As long as a TaylorMade sponsored player is using a TaylorMade sponsored club, I dont think they will mind to much.

Some still use the r7 425. What a horrible club. It would be even worse for a Forum name.

Just kidding. I am actually thinking about going back to my 425, if the Tour Burner doesnt work out.

I hit the driver out of curiosity... it is a total POS (piece of $hit). It has a severe draw/hook bias. It also feels junky compared to the R7 or other models.

My understanding is the CGB max line is meant for the super game improvement category so you wouldn't find any tour pros in that category anyway. They have the best skill level in the world so are gonna gravitate towards stuff like the superquad tp and burner tp as well as some of the older versions like the r7 425 as these are all more of a players club.

The R7 CGB Max is definitely intended to be a game improvement club. It has a shut face and draw bias at address for one. The Burner TP and Superquad TP actually have slightly open faces at address, which is more suited for a tour pro.

I dont put down clubs-every club has its golfer i just like to review Taylormade woods-because i play them-

      Good advice. In general, you want to take whatever weight you are lifting to a couple of reps before failure, for muscle growth. There are other tactics for PT related stuff. I would trust your PT person.  For muscle growth, you can go like 30 reps to failure. It is tougher to gauge. Also, it takes 2x as long to do the same number of working sets per week if you are doing 15 instead. It is way less efficient, but your case is special because of the injury/aggravation to the hip.

      Several years ago I got paired with a twosome of golfers, one of which had a maybe 5-year-old son with him. The kid had a putter and a 7i with him, and on some holes he would drop a ball near the green, chip on, and putt. If the kid started to get distracted, the dad would ask, "Do you need to rest?" The kid would nod yes, and then take his dad's seat riding in the cart for a couple of holes. It was a slow day, and the kid was polite and friendly. We got through 18 just fine. (If it had been a crowded course day, I'm sure it would have been less pleasant.)

      Caution for the seniors on weight training: Listen to your body. (I'm 75) I got a recent session with an orthopedist after a training-related injury. I put too much weight on a new resistance machine at the gym and ended up with bursitis in my left hip. Of course, it's the hip I dislocated back in 2023. I have my first physical therapy session tomorrow. I remarked that some days I can do 45 lbs. chest press - two sets - without much effort. But other days it drops down to 30 (😩) with just one set. (Complicating factor: I had digestive problems in this fall and lost about 20 lbs., with slip in muscle tone.) Orthopedist said that I want to feel some resistence, but that I should go with lots of reps with manageable weights rather than trying to set some sort of lift-pound record. I'm sure I'll get some refinements on lifting during tomorrow's PT.
