I traded my superquad in for store credit, and at this point I am kind of regretting it. Never really gave the club a proper chance to make it.

Then I got to thinking about my old 425 and how will I struck that club. Was wondering what people think of the trade up or trade down to get the 425 TP version. Both are the same price at this point, $399, so I wouldnt have to pay for the 425 TP. Always the option of going on ebay and saving the credit for this and that.

Was wondering your thoughts upon this. Pros and Cons of it I guess.

Definately the r7 425TP --the TP's have the TP REAX shaft which i think is within the top 3 shafts on the market today-but it comes stock which is well--a huge steal. The 425TP i feel is straighter and the perfect size for a driver

"People think the size of the head is most important. Wrong. It's getting a quality shaft. test different shafts to see which goes the straightest. Also, more degrees of loft on the head is better than less. Eleven degrees is about right."

How did I know that you were going to be the first to post on this thread. I guess I should of just asked you in a private message, eh.

I do agree with you on the shaft and the size of the head. I dont really like to be looking down at a boat when I am teeing off. I just feel the 460cc club head is to big for me.

Ive pretty much already decided to go with the 425 TP.

Now how to purchase. Ebay, or through the pro shop and take up that credit.

Hey Im the one to ask when it comes to TaylorMade drivers. Your right about seeing the boat though. Honestly when i was at the golf show--out of all the 2008 model clubs there i ranked the top 3 drivers 1. TaylorMade Superquad 2. Cobra Speed LD 3. Titleist 907D2

You cant go wrong

ugh... The TP is a very good option. Being a long time user of one of the older quad models, they are definitly nice heads. Another option, (not sure if you want to stay TM or not) might be something in the new nike line, or even the burner TP. I just wish you would of given the SQ more of a chance :) Haha Brian.

ugh...

I havent turned down the option of taking my Superquad back. I am pretty good friends with the guys at the pro shop, considering I am in their almost every week, so they are holding on to it.

I have been looking at the Tour Burners, dont really like the look of the regular burner drivers. Those 460cc heads though drive me nuts. Might browse ebay from some 425 TPs. Plenty of options out there, just have to find one that fits me.

Bart Byrant is in the lead with the r7 425TP so............

Eh, wasnt as hard as a decesion as I thought it would be. 425 TP will be at my doorstep in 4 weeks. Just used my credit from the pro-shop, didnt bother with ebay.

Now I am going back to my r7 quad for awhile.

Cant wait till it gets here. I want it now.

    • You still got to lift your arms. You basically just roll your wrist over in the 1st half of the backswing.
    • Day 288 6-17 Low point control without ball. hit quite a few swing where i was wanting the club to hit the ground.  Added a ball with towel behind it, just to see where im at. Wasn't horrible but need some more work. Pretty much full speed swings.
    • Current state of the program.  I can only do 25-50% swing speed, probably under 50% since I was hitting the ball out to the 150 yard marker (yay!),  to get the arms down and somewhat turn the body through impact. I mean somewhat. Arms down + body turn don't like to mesh at all. Anything faster and the body does stupid uncoordinated stuff. Mostly, I am stuck in the old pattern of staling the turn and flipping at the ball.  So, until I see progress. I am not posting anything here.
    • Thanks for the video! Do you think a ball between the arms type of training aid would get me in a better position? I also have a Tour Striker Swing Trainer (PlaneMate-like contraption) if that could be helpful.
    • There are some little things here and there — the shoulder turn is a bit flat, and the arms move around you a bit too much too. Take a look at this video:
