Mizuno MP-100

I was wondering if anyone out there is actually playing the 100th Anniversery MP-100's?



I am considering buying a set for actual play and some of the few reviews I've found on the internet of those that play them say they are excellent, and are simular to the MP-33's.


I currently play MP-37's which to me are the absolute best irons I have ever hit in my 35 years of playing, but they won't last forever, and I'm looking ahead to what I may go to next. Since I am biased and believe Mizuno makes the best forged blades hands down, my only current option(I'm not liking the "Cut Muscle" thing,,lol) are to move on to the MP-100's.


Has anyone actually hit them?

No, I haven't hit them. But from what I've heard they're similar to what you have (MP-37) instead of MP-33. Rather than using a collector set such as MP-100 which definitely will devalue them, I would surely get another set of MP-37. Unless if money isn't an issue for you.

As a Mizuno fan (and also biased toward it) I strongly recommend you to try the Cut Muscle on MP-32 or MP-67. They're the same Mizuno quality and feel but only more appealing and defined as I would call it. Hope this helps.

If they are more like the MP-37's like you said, that would be even better. I have considered buying a backup set of MP-37's for the future. I was just looking for feedback if anyone has played the MP-100's.

Well I pulled the trigger and bought a brand new set of MP-100's on ebay for only $490 and they arrived today. Now the question is do I really have the guts to actually hit them,,,lol! I will say yes because I payed so little for such a quality iron, and besides, 15 years from now when my kids are in college it's not like I will be able to sell them to pay for thier education.


Irons of this quality were made to be played.
I'm a "Player" not a "Collector",,lol!!

Still they are very beautiful to look at. Don't hit them.

I have 2 set of the Titleist 681 T stamp. One is brand new and one is 8.5/10 so I hit that once in a while but I cherris collector items. my.$0.02

Brand new MP-100 for $490? You've got yourself a great deal there!

I wouldn't have the guts to hit them either if I were in your shoes. If I wanted great quality irons to play with I would've bought either MP-33, 37, 32 or 67. That Mizuno MP-100 is meant to be placed in trophy room. I desperately urge you to think twice whether or not to hit the MP-100.

This is my take, in the end, looking at them doesnt do anything for me. Really what kind of value can you expect them to be at 20-25 years from now? Of course nobody knows for sure. My new MacGregors are so beautifull I didnt want to hit them, but I mean spending $500 for them to sit there doesnt do anything for me personally. I would though HATE myself for having hit them, but id get over it.

That's pretty much my take on it also. I was looking for a set of "NEW" irons. I know some may feel that I could have went for a set of MP-33's, of which they no longer make so if you are lucky to find a new or immaculate set of MP-33's they want a lot more than $490 for them. Wolverine, I have to say that the new MacGregor Pro-M irons are awfully SWEET Looking!! If I wasn't a diehard Mizuno man I would have definitely bought a set of those. I played a set of MacGregor MT blades back in HighSchool in the early 80's. The new MacGregor's have a classic look to them,,,very nice. I hope they hit as well as they look for you?

I've played MP100's since 2008. Had Mizuno T-Zoid's before these and Hogan Apex before the Zoid's. I love the look and feel of the MP100's. Just when I think I'm too old ( 60 ) or don't have the game anymore to play these, I'll hit a few of those shots you don't even feel and remember why I bought them. Think I'll keep them. Buy them, throw away the display case and go play!

I don't know what the big mystery is about. They're identical to MP-33's, just rebadged.
