So right now I'm swinging a
Cleveland HiBoreXL 9.5 with a Graphite Design YS6 stiff shaft.
It's my 2nd year & I've been more than happy with what the graphite design did for me during my 1st year. I'm getting a little more comfortable with the swing but, when I try to crank it, the ball just seems to catch a crazy amount of air. My main problem is ballooning the ball. My ss is around 95 - 105. I've cracked a few drives in the 300's, but it's not consistent & more times than none, I'll get the balloon effect. I've tried moving the ball back in my stance towards the middle & teeing it up at different lengths. Someone (a graffaloy rep) suggested to me that the YS shafts have tips that are too soft for the swing.
I was thinking of going with a shaft from the Diamana line since I've heard nothing but great things...but I don't know shafts too well. Can anyone help?

I would say that the GD YS6 is not soft at the tip - the YS6 shaft in my 905R feels very stiff

I read somewhere that GD shafts are more consistent throughout the entire shaft - stiff is stiff, not stiff with a soft tip
