I've been Playing Golf for: 30 years, with varying degrees of intensity/regularity.
My current handicap index or average score is: 11 ish.
My typical ball flight is: High, intended to be a draw. Struggled with a bad slice for years. A single lesson fixed it, but introduced the left miss.
The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: Hook with driver, just seeking more consistency with this club. Chunked wedges also an issue, so better connection needed there.

Hopefully videos are of the quality/angle that is usable. Wasn't space in the bay to film driver properly, can update in time.

Have been a lurker here for a while, seems a good community. Would be very grateful for any thoughts. Thanks

The angles aren't too bad. But do everyone a favor next time and trim the video to just one swing. Hitting play and then watching you walk around and collect balls before you swing… a lot of people will just move on. The down-the-line was like 20 seconds before you swung.

Anyway… your swing is far too long, and your lower body appears to be getting dragged around almost entirely by what your upper body is doing.

You can see your right leg just extended almost fully to straight, which will turn it into a "pole" of sorts. There's no athletic tension in that P4, and you're going to start your forward move late and from scratch as you have no momentum forward.

Thanks, appreciate the feedback. I had always been aware I was overswinging a bit but seeing this I was surprised by the extent of it. I had not considered the impact on the right leg but is very clear now you've pointed it out.

I am working my way through the instructional content on here, which is very helpful. A more technical approach than I've tried before so some of the concepts are a little alien but think I'm getting my head around it. And my copy of LWS landed last week, which I expect will help with scoring also.

Day 3: 2025.12.29

Played nine holes to test out new grip position. Felt uncomfortable, more time on range needed.

It should feel uncomfortable. It's new. Different.

    • Day 27 (17 July 26) - Normally an 18 hole day, but due to commitments abbreviated the round to 9 holes (played the back nine at home course).  Had a solid session where even the worst miss (tee shot off 18) was fully playable.  Shot a solid 39 (6pars, 3bogies) - not dbls, no three putts - just boring golf.
    • Overall, well said. People have to be very careful in trying to describe very complex problem in simple terms. In this case, it is a clear fundamental misunderstanding of Newton's 1st and 3rd laws.  To clarify more on the misinterpretation of Newton's 1st law. The exact interpretation of Newton's 1st Law....  "Every body continues in its state of rest, or of uniform motion in a straight line, unless it is compelled to change that state by forces impressed upon it" yea, a body will stay motionless unless a force acts upon it. An object will stay on its path of motion unless a force acts upon it.  I get it, complex physics problems are difficult. There is a lot of simplification done in most physics class when it is taught. A classic problem uses a frictionless surface. Projectile motion excludes drag and wind direction. Collisions are usually elastic. The golf swing is not a simple physics problem.  Yea, I think they got caught up the data on the graphs and are not truly understanding cause and effect.  If the golfer isn't first pushing into the ground, then the ground isn't going to push back.  The internal forces of the body create the motion, not the external forces from the ground. The ground isn't like what Psy uses to start his concert. 🤣 You probably need to be connected to the ground and have those GRF to help the body produce the motion you want. Your body has to move in the right way to produce the GRF which helps you move the body in the way you want. Body motion precedes the GRF.
