I guess I did it to myself but I still have to vent......

I am not a member of a country club and play several different courses. I try to play at least once a week and hit the range once a week to work out kinks. Well, all of my reading, practicing, and preparation paid off last Friday when I shot a personal best of 83 on a well maintained, challenging course. This beat my previous low score by 2 strokes but that was on a very short, easy course that I played on Sunday.

Well, the course I played Sunday was in horrible shape. There was more bare spots and weeds on the fairways than there was grass. The greens were a joke, bare in spots and hairy as shag carpet in others. Aggravation and frustation set in and I blew up to shoot around 100.

I can handle if I am playing bad because of a swing defect or if I am mentally not there but I was sharp. I lost several shots because I was hitting from a bare fairway or trying to putt through shag carpet.......I have never been so mad after a round of golf in my life.....

I did, however, swear not to play that course again for the rest of the year.....hopefully I can get back on track on some of the better courses around here.....

End of vent!
