I'm a horrible putter. I'll play whatever ball I can get my hands on, and actually I got lucky and got a few dozen Callaway HX tours and 56's and some Titelist DT So/Lo for my birthday. Previously playing Top-Flite's and other relatively hard golf balls, when I putted the 56's for the first time it felt incredible, so soft and so much more accurate. I generally putt too hard, so maybe the softness helped a little, maybe it was all mental, I'm not really sure. Anyone have any experience with this? Does the ball really help much with putting, even to a higher handicapper?

I sucked at putting...

I'm a TINY bit better with my Maxfli Black Max, but not that noticable.

My dad uses Top Flite's, and 1-2 putts every green...doesn't seem to have a problem with them. :\

I don't feel that the type of ball makes much of a difference at all, but it could help a small bit. But if you tend to feel more safe and comfortable when putting with a "higher caliber" ball i'd say use them and you'll find yourself draining more putts.

The only difference I feel, is that in a softer ball, you feel a soft contact throughout your hands, and the ball bounces right off the face, harder balls dont do that and feel alot different, but when It comes to actually putting, it doesnt make a difference.
