Howdy to all. My name is Jim. I'm a semi-retired real estate developer living up in the San Juan Islands area of Puget Sound.

I'm a big fan of the game and traditions of golf. I follow the tour consistently on PGATOUR.com and am disappointed that there is no interactive forum there to solve problems, ask questions and discuss events. I hope that finding this site will fill that void.

Welcome... I too use PGATour.com for watching highlights and reading news. I followed Bryant a little today in his win at the Tour Championship. Its nice to get a little video "on demand" on the weekends.

I live just down the road from you... and I sure wish the rain would let up for half a second so I could play nine holes. We drove down from the Bellingham area last night and just about got blown off the road with all the wind and rain. Not a very pleasant drive in that weather.

Hope you enjoy the Sand Trap.

Oddly, weather here isn't too much of a problem, unless it's just frigid. I found this place because a pilot I met told me they call it the "Blue Hole". I've been here two years and can only think of one stretch that kept us off the course for three straight days. Even when storm fronts are coming through, that rain shadow effect from the Olympic range gives us good shelter and playing opportunities. Since I live on the course, I don't have to drive to go see or rely on someone in the proshop. If I see it clearing, I call a friend and tee it up.

Sometime, you'll have to grab a ferry and stop in for a round.

Sounds like a plan. I'd love to get over to the "Blue Hole" and play some golf. I'd play golf just about any place... That snow golf they do in Iceland isn't too far fetched for me. Well, maybe a little.

"That snow golf they do in Iceland isn't too far fetched..."

I met a guy last year who said he went to Iceland on a golf tour in the summer. He said it was only dark for about an hour; they played a morning round at abour 5:00 AM then had early lunch and played again in the afternoon. Then took a break and had dinner before playing the evening round.

They played three rounds a day for three days. I don't think I could handle that much.
