Has anyone used a rusted club that had problems later? How serious can this become? I built a knockoff 5 wood and noticed that the heel of the club, on the side of it, was starting to rust. The club is a little more than a year old. I didn't pay too much for it, so it is cheap, but have never heard of this before.

Sand it, steel wool it and spray with polyurethane.

It will be fine.

^Werd. The rust is likely just on the surface, so give it a good sanding, clean, and cover it with paint/polyurethane.
