Well I'm going out for my high school golf team this year. Right now I think I need an upgrade in the driver, irons, and putter category. Well I'll most likely be getting a $100 driver for my birthday from my mom. And hopefully a new yes! putter from my dad. And then I'll buy irons with my own money. But I'm still questioning getting a new putter since I have an Odyssey DF 550 right now. It's pretty dang old. Here's what it looks like new: http://toad.frogtrader.com/ycg/images/yhk413078.jpg It just doesn't get it done anymore. Do you think that I should get a new putter or just stick with mine right now.

What is wrong with the putter? Does it not roll well, do you not like the blade setup? If it doesn't roll well then a Yes! putter will fix that. I'd test other putters and compare them to yours and if they are better then go for it and if not then just stick with yours.

Definatly a Yes! Putter, If you have the money a putter wouldn't hurt. You seem to say your losing confidence in your putter right? Of course a new putter what do that. I'd personally say instead of buying new irons, get yourself a putter. If you shoot 108 or so, and take 36 putts, thats 1/3 of your game right there, All in the putter, the greatest investment in the game.

Well I've come to a conclusion:

Driver: $100 or less (Ping)
Irons: Free from my friend (Xtreme Playability)
Putter: Around $100 (Yes!)

My mother can pay for the driver, and my father can pay for the putter (early birthday gifts)

Well I've come to a conclusion:

Once you get your new putter, clean up your old one and sell it on ebay. Even if it's $20, it helps you towards your irons.

You should probably get some name brand irons for a team.
