Just a few things I noticed....
1st of all looks like your a little rigid...I know you are prolly trying to keep that left arm as straight as possible but at position 2 there is a pretty big gap between the butt end of the club and your hips.
2nd of all def looks like you need to start you swing with more motion in your hips.. you are doing a good job of getting through the ball but looks like you are getting through too late.

but as everyone says.... Just my 2 cents!

Just one more thing to add, I notice i slide my hips instead of rotating them on both swings, but I have this mentality where To ensure i bring the club back straight I cant rotate my hips

I find: How can you bring the club back straight and rotate instead of slide your hips at the same time?

Your swing and ballstriking doesn't always dictate what you shoot. I've had many days where I could hit the ball solid at all, and still shot a very good score. The day I shot a 35, my lowest 9 hole round ever, I swear to you I didn't hit the ball as well as I have on other days. Don't worry about your swing so much. If you hit the ball solid, and keep it in play, you'll be fine. I practice my short game a lot more now (chipping, pitching and putting) because that's truely how you shoot lower scores.

Your right, I don't think I should take all this advice so seriously and start changing my swing drastically. I mean I hit the ball straight with my driver, so I don't need to worry about that as much. Dont get me wrong i greatly appreciate all the advice given.

I really shouldn't change much, Just fix my slice and my shanks and ill be back on the road.

First of all your swing is always going to need work here and there so with "this" swing you can definitely get below a five. It's not like it's a bad swing, dude. Just get a coach to help you out with that slight over-the-top move you have going on and you'll be fine.

Last thing is try to be more confident. No one strikes the ball perfectly every day, but the more you work on it when you're not striking the ball well the more frequently you will strike the ball well in the future. You have a good swing, but it can always improve. Be confident that you can make the improvements!

That's it.

Yeah, people try to change their swing way too much. You swing how you swing. Just keep practicing and try to practice your short game more often than your ballstriking if you really want to see your scores become reduceded.

I have a round on sunday and I need to fix this before then. I currently am all over the place with my irons, I usually shank, top the ball, severe fade, or slice. Here are my swings:

The baiscs ( only looked at your swings once or twice in slow motion)

Face on - Your hands are flipping at the ball (club already flexed out at impact) Down line - Your hips are moving toward the ball at impact (early release) You are in between a 1 plane and 2 plane swing. You have a 1 plane takeaway and a 2 plane position at the top. In addition, you are using a lot of your arms and hands to hit the ball. Your lower body has to be the main driving force behind your swing. You need to aim for: 1) Solid left wrist with label of glove facing th target 2) Lower body begins the downswing and continues through impact to allow shoulders to close the club NOT the hands Your over tempo and motion is good and practiced, but you're practicing the wrong things for consistency. The way you're swinging now, you need a lot of timing with the arms and hands in order to hit the ball straight.

Thanks everyone, Tried a few things today at the range before I went out and I completely fixed my swing, I don't know what I did, but its back to normal now and I'm very consistant. Now the only problem: I AM COMPLETELY SHANKING ALL MY WEDGE SHOTS!!! OMG!

A tip for this my friend showed me (hes an asst. pga pro now out in oregon) is to lower your hands when hitting your wedge, it makes the club shorter, which makes you hit it less of the hosel.

Good Tip, musta shot around 92 today because of this, really dint keep score, but I don't know what it is. IT seems that i really need to focus and tighten my grip when hitting a wedge to make sure I don't shank.

Turn your shoulders through impact and keep your left wrist flat/parallel to your forearm. Keep weight on the left foot from set up to impact to follow through.

    • So no joke, last evening post work nine must have been the craziest side I've ever played: Bogey, double, double, par, birdie, birdie, birdie, double, birdie. Two gimme birdies, one 15 footer and one bonus bomb from prolly 35 feet on no. 9. Full disclosure, it's a super easy course when greens are running at an 8 with easy welcoming pins. Still, a couple of firsts there. Driver freed me up starting the fourth hole. Anyway, driver notes: 1) anti left left hand grip. 2) no structural bind on hands/grip. 3) left shoulder HAS to get up to chin with humerus completely detached from chest and shoulder socket (feel) Big game tomorrow, aiming to break 80.
