I just wanted to see what everyone's opinion on the Callaway Hyper X 460 Ti driver is? I was thinking of picking one up, and fitting it with either a UST Proforce 75, or a Graffaloy pro launch shaft. I am currently leaning towards the Graffaloy. What do you guys think? Thanks in advance.

I think you should get a fitting.

Quite honestly, I see no value in questions like this. Are you simply looking for validation? What do any of us know about your swing, tendencies, feel, etc.?

You should def. get a fitting, everyone should but, imo..

the Callaway you are describing is not my favorite club. It doesn't work for me but, it might work for you. Thus, get fit!

I agree totally. I was just going to post something along these lines.

What the hell do you expect us to tell you dude? Just go to a golf shop or driving range and swing a driver with both these shafts, that's what I did. I preferred the UST V2 but everyone's swing and feel is different in golf, that's why you need to get fitted and go through the process that feels and works right for you.

All I wanted was a few opinions on the specific components. I did get a fitting for the club, and it felt good. However, a couple of clubs I have tested felt good. The Callaway was one club that, despite feeling good, I had heard a few negative reviews about. I don't need any opinions specific to me, just general comments. Only trying to do as much research as possible before buying. Thanks.

nobody's trying to be mean ( i hope ). just suggesting you get fitted.

as i wrote, i personally don't like the hyper x. But, if you like it, then go for it.

Other drivers i would recommend in that range are the Ping Rapture or the Titleist D1.

My personal opinion -- I don't like the stock shaft it comes with. I usually hit a draw with every driver I've ever had (even other drives with neutral bias) but now I seem to be hitting what I will graciously call a power fade. Consistently starts off left and moves around to the middle of the fairway about 220 out, which is okay on both counts (fairway, 220), particularly as this is consistently how I'm hitting it, but I can't seem to hit a draw even when I set up to work a draw with this club (just push it right, never curves in), and 220 is about a 30 yard loss in power for me off the tee. I loved it on the launch monitor, but if I want to send it out there I really have to bear down and concentrate -- and actually make some sort of fairly rigorous physical effort -- which I've never had to do before to launch it. I always followed the "swing easy to hit hard," but I have to come around on this like a home run ball to put it out there. I did hit one about 280 at the range that rocketed off into outer space (afterburners, on!) so I know this club has potential, and since I bought it I'm going to stick with it and see if I can figure it out a bit better. I'll let you know when I figure out how to get back to 250+ consistently with this thing.
