Well, I sent them to Chris WRX's, aka the shop at my house. LOL. I found a set of new DG S300's at a shop an hour away and put them in tonight. $120 total including expoxy and bore brushes. The blows Ping WRX out the water. LOL. What a scam. Just got finished trimming to length. Going to take them to a shop in town tomorrow morning and tape a grip to the butt and check out the swingweight. I ended up going with the standard length for Pings, so I think the SW will be good if it comes in around D3. I will put the grips on after and hopefully get to take some swings late in the afternoon. I'm going to try and get a Demo 7 iron from the shop so I can compare the Reg flex AWT side by side with the DG S300 7 iron. The real test will be on the course with my regular ball. Range balls are always inconclusive.

Well, I played with the S300's in a practice round on Friday and then in my Am Tour event today. Shot 80 on Friday and 83 today. Short game was the difference. Also I found the course to be very forgiving. Driver/wedge on most Par 4's. The trajectory is definetly lower. Not a huge difference, but enough of a difference to make them playable in the wind. Got back about 1/2 club of distance. Left a lot of shots short and right though.

I met up with a clubfitter on the range Friday before my practice round. We did my swing speed, which averaged 105 mph with the driver, (10 mph more than I thought it was) and 85 mph w/ 5 iron. I hit the Project X, and several other shafts, one being the Pro Force V2 Gold Tour graphite iron shafts. PX just felt horrible to me. Ball flight was higher than S300. Felt like a heavy iron rod. Did not like it at all. Didn't feel like it flexxed any. I believe it was a 6.0. The V2 felt like poo poo as well, but I hit it straighter than all of them. Ball flight was too high though. Fitter seems to think that a Reg flex will probably be my best bet. The Reg flex Ping AWT did feel great to me, I just hit them too high and short. I'm thinking that I might try the R300 next.

I'm going to try and spend some time on the range tomorrow and work on these S300's a bit. I didn't really want to experiment too much during the event, but I did hit several nice iron shots, so I know it's possible.

Had a sweet eagle on a Par 5 on Friday that won me a $150 skin. 290 yard Drive, with a 245 yard 3w over water to about 20 ft. Drained the putt. I love Par 5's.

update

I had the loft strengthened 2 degrees on the irons. That lowered it a good bit more. Still not as low as my 695CB's, but now they are playable.

I would say the loft adjustment made a bigger difference than the shafts. However doing both made it better.

Going to roll with what I got for now. Had to add a 50 wedge and remove my 3 hybrid.
