Bettinardi Putters

What do you think? Have you heard of them? Ever seen one in a store?

The .38 Special and .44 Magnum have to be two of the sweetest putters ever made.

I was hitting one today at the shop while I was getting my Scotty adjusted. They are very sweet indeed. They're light yet not too light and have a great feel to them.

top notch putters. personally, i dont know ive i'd play the 44magnum or 38 special putters but they are definitely unique looking. quality wise...im sure they are on par with the scotty putters...and the feel is great on both. It seems that scotty cameron did a better job with his marketing by hopping on with titliest while bettinardi is with mizuno. Either way..great putters nonetheless. although i dont think i'd give up my circa 62

Ive heard of 'em. Nice putters, but very expensive. Ive watched a few of the pre-Mizuno Bettinardi putters on Ebay and its crazy just how much people are willing to pay for those things.
I thought people were nuts to pay $200+ for a used Cameron on Ebay, but that much money wouldnt even get your foot in the door on a Bettinardi...

I would consider buying one, they have a nice soft feel when I tried one at the golf store.

Several years ago, I saw a lonely Bettinardi, pre-Mizuno, pre-Ben Hogan, putter at the Edwin Watts store in Memphis. It is a BB-1 Mid Slant, which, in essence, is an anser style head or, if you're a Cameron fan, similar to a Newport Beach with a sight line.

I no longer use the putter but I still have it. It is a thing of beauty. Well balanced and prettier than any Cameron Newport I've ever seen, I'd put it up against any off the rack putters I've come across. Mr. Bettinardi is probably as talented as Mr. Cameron but, as has been stated in an earlier post, he and his product have suffered from poorer marketing as well as the fact that Mr. Cameron was able to sign with Acushnet and Mr. Bettinardi was not.

In my opinion, Mr. Bettinardi produces putters every bit as fine as those produced by Cameron and company.

The Bettinardi putters that I tried all felt good, but a little light. I prefer a heavy putter and the Scotty Cameron Studio Select has interchangeable weights so that was an important factor for me. Otherwise, I would have probably gone with a Bettinardi or a Yes.

I am actually one of the two Bettinardi distributors and I have gamed the .38 special...very cool! But for me it was distracting with the copper plugs. I really like some of the newer stuff coming out as well as the OLD stuff circa 1997-99 right after Bettinardi stopped milling the putters for Scotty Cameron. I think that the early Bettinardi putters are actually undervalued and are much much harder to find than even a handmade Cameron

I don't know that much about the value of the Bettinardi's, but I do know that my BB1 Short Slant, which is not my gamer, is as beautiful, well made and well balanced as any putter I've ever tried from any manufacturer. It is just a fine piece of work that illustrates well the old Bauhaus dictum: form follows function. I also agree that a lot of aesthetic noise (re: copper plugs,etc. ) on a putter is distracting. Bettinardi got it just right with the BB1 in my opinion.
