I was at my local pro shop and noticed they didn't have much Nike Golf items. Does anyone play Nike? They are coming out with some nice irons soon and have heard wonderful things about the driver. So anyone play them and if so what do you like about them?

Love my hybrid, the forgiveness and workability is amazing. Had an SQ driver and NDS Irons, those are gone, but they were awesome, i didnt get new nike clubs cause i get my clubs for cost. if i could get nike for cost i would. I love my SV wedge too, and next spring im getting the new Nike VR wedges, which tiger used at Torrey Pines. My original SQ three wood is as good as anything out there, i think the original one is better than the one's now. The new 5900 driver looks sweet and so does the new Slingshot 4d irons.

I used a set of the original Slingshot irons for 4 or 5 seasons till this year. I really loved them at first. I hit them straight as an arrow no matter where on the clubface I hit it. This also happens to be the same reason that I replaced them. I wanted a club with a little more feedback. I now know where I hit the ball off of the clubface and I know how to correct it. I would really like to try the new VR irons. Those things look HOT! I did try the Sumo2, but it is way too loud for me.

I love the 5900 driver. I have however recently taken my Nike putter out of my bag and replaced it with a Ping. I suspect I'll putt as bad with this club as well and be forced to the conclusion it was me all along ...

The new nike driver i can hit pretty well just dont like how it looks. Also i dont like nike clubs except for the nike blades.

How is your ball striking with them with a 15 handicap? I was thinking about getting a set (or MP-57's) and I have a handicap close to yours. Thanks.

My ball striking with them is great, I make great contact with them and they are great clubs. I really recommend them. Now on the other hand when I hit the MP-57's I couldn't hit them at all.

I actually got them with Project X shafts. I bought them used from Golf Galaxy and thats what the guy who owned them reshafted them with. I havent actually hit the S400 shafts so I cant really comment on them.

I play the Nike Blades. They are surprisingly easy for me too hit and I can honestly say they aren't the reason my hc is so high (thank my driving and putting for that).

I play the 5300 and their 3W. Selling the 3W though because I'd rather have a hybrid with similar loft.
What I Play:

Driver: Sasquatch SUMO² 9.5º Stiff
Hybrid: HiBore 16º (3W replacement)
Irons: Staff Ci6 3-PW StiffWedges: Vokey Spin Milled 54.10 60.04Putter: Newport Studio Style 35"Ball: Pro V1xAge: 15

I have the 2006 Sasquatch driver (not the SUMO).

I did not want to buy it because I couldn't stand the way it looked. Crown looked flat and oversized and I didn't think any golf club should ever have the color yellow in it. ANYWHERE.

Just to be a wise consumer I included it with 6 other drivers when I went on the launch monitor. To be honest, I was hoping I'd slice or snap hook my 1st drive with it & cross it off the list. An hour later it was a no brainer & over the past 2 years I've never been happier with a driver. Would recommend to anyone. The yellow sole has grown on me too

Also played Nike One Platinum ball. No difference to me from the Pro V1.

    • A few months back I purchased the following swing aid on Amazon ($130). It is solidly made of steel and heavy and stable in use. I use it both at the range and at home. Swing Plate Dual PRO by Jamie Brittain - Swing Analyzer Aid - Fits Standard 8mm Alignment Rod Sticks - Teaching Swing Plane Perfector - Indoor/Outdoor Golfing Practice. This winter I set a goal for myself to improve my backswing/downswing to be more consistent and on plane. I had a two way miss with my approach shots this past golf season. I have a hitting set-up in my garage, but I needed something to provide feedback while swinging the club. I came across the Swing Plate while browsing YouTube.   I set it up with the correct angles for my 8 iron. I started out with just the back rod in place, which prevents me from getting too far inside on the backswing. Started out slow and as I got comfortable increased my swing speed. Now I also came across a YouTube video on building a better backswing and getting more width in the backswing and added that to my practice. That video is here:    This video is a bit wordy since you are basically a fly on the wall as Ian gets a lesson. It took a few replays to be able to get the substance of the instruction. It was well worth the effort. Over the last two weeks I have been able to get out on the course and gauge how successful my practice has been. Overall, my consistency with approach shots has improved greatly. Incorporating the added width in my swing has also added a few yards to all my clubs.  What has your off-season training been like?
    • Played Green Knoll today, made three birdies. #10, #14, and #16 knocked off the away composite.
