i just realized how lucky i am after reading someone's post in the golf equipment forum. they mentioned in their post that on their "wishlist" was a pair of adidas tour 360s.

wow.

i can literally go out and buy 10 pairs of those shoes tomorrow and though i might feel like a complete douche after doing so, it really wouldn't hurt me that badly, financially or any other way possible.

i constantly complain about where i am in life. constantly complain that i don't have a recording contract with a band, that i'm not a professional athlete, that i'm not as heavy as i want to be. i complain that i only live in a studio apartment and not a big and beautiful one. i complain that i don't have a fancy car, etc. etc. but seriously, WTF is there to complain about?

i have an apartment on 72nd street in manhattan. i live with a beautiful brazilian model who is super fantastic. I mean, i even complain about that because she's older than me and has been with some famous guys in the past but who gives? why am i complaining? is it because i'm not somewhere special? i just wrote how i have NOTHING to complain about. a pair of shoes isn't on my wishlist...i really don't even have a goddamned wishlist! i haven't since i was maybe 17 years old.

seriously, i need to realize how much i do have and just enjoy it. no more online poker playing. no more blowing money. no more complaining about my body. i just need to get up and do it. done.

yes, we are lucky to live in American, land of the free, we take things for granted until we go out of the country and see how everybody else lives, especially in third world countries.

I'd have to say living in Canada is great as well, we just miss out on great things like half baked ice cream, and all the good flavours of pop tarts. But are iced tea does kick @$$

I wish i was in your situation lots, but of course i work a near full time summer job (64 hours every two weeks) and having 3 day weekends, so it could be much worse am i right? I only get to golf once a week thanks to it, but next year is membership time again.

As far as golf goes, I'm never really ungrateful, I got a lot of good stuff, and soon to be more. I have a huge ammount of golf clothes (which I actually enjoy) :-p and I although I don't get out as much as I want, I still enjoy the time out there.

But like Lange said: Next year is membership time, so I can be even more greatful.

And to be honest, now that I have a job now, Money makes me happy. I can buy whatever I want and be happy about it. Before when I had no money I couldn't even go out for lunch with friends. Now it's really no issue...On payday.

Looks like someone is trying to show off in a sly way. But yes everyone on a computer reading this forum is lucky to even be in a room with electricity, real plumbing and running water and a computer to use. I like to complain a lot but really and truly I have absolutely nothing to complain about. I can afford anything that I want and need within reason and still be able to put food on the table, how can you ask for more than that?

Yeah seems like you got it pretty good compared to me. I complain alot about my life when it comes to golf because i feel i have reason. I live in Canada, so our golf season sucks. Last 2 years we didnt even have a spring because the weather has been so f'd up. I've lost interest in the game because of this and back/health issues.

As far as possesions in my life i find my self complaining but like you said it really isnt right. I have a car, a roof over my head and food on my plate. And lots of nice possesions to entertain me. Lots of people need to be more appreciative we dont live in Iraq or Uganda or some communist country, myself included. When you think about what those people go through it really puts things in perspective.

i was actually just venting out something that's been in my head and no, it's not showing off. it's the truth and if one person has a problem with that, then there's nothing i can do about it.

    • Yep. It’s easy to get distracted during the day and hardly drink any water. Our bodies do not have a good systems to warn us early enough. Some tips I like. Drink 16+ ounces of water when you wake up. The body can lose 1-2 lbs of water weight overnight. You are already in the red. If you know you are going to work out, or even walking 9 holes of golf. Drink water before hand and during the exertion. I was curious once, I did a 40 ish minute workout and I lost about 5 lbs of water weight. That is 80 ounces of water I need to replenish. Now I try to drink 24-36 ounces beforehand.  Aim for half an ounce of fluid, per pound of bodyweight, per day. Note, this is baseline not taking into account exercise or strenuous activity. Also, if you eat non processed foods, you can get a good amount through diet. If you eat processed foods, you need to drink more during the day.
    • Anyone in the group play tennis and interested in playing some tennis this weekend while we are away on recreation?  @StuM I messaged you about hotel accommodations please let me know what you can do.
    • That's kind of what I thought.  The ap maybe fine, but Shotscope is so inexpensive and works really well. I'm surprised more golfers don't use it.
    • Me too. I tend to drink no less than 64 oz in the winter time. In the summer at least twice that.  I'm prone to cramping and cramping sucks. So, I drink plenty of water. BTW - I've become increasingly prone to cramping as I've aged. Aging sucks also.    Huh?  I'd love to know where you got this information. Did you ask your dog?  I'm not sure if I like or dislike the taste of water. It's water. It's one of the things that makes life on Earth possible.
    • It doesn't, though, and cognitive decline begins pretty early when water/dehydration are concerned.
